This was a really good story. I loved this episode. And I love John but I am a sucker for JohnWhump! Ah, well. Like, I said, a great story. Obviously the next episode shows that the story went differently but it's still good. :) I enjoyed it. :) Well done.

I enjoy seeing snippets of this fandom's history like this - tales that were obviously written before certain episodes, or in specific gaps between episodes. Like the fics that explain Finch's injuries as due to a car accident, or which showcase an even more villainous Root. They're little treasures of history, and this one has plenty of drama going for it. Thanks for writing it!

First thank you for writing this bonus scene fic cause you are one of the few that managed to write about ep 10 into words that made me feel better since they ended with a kickass scene that left me wanting more but fanfiction cheered me up. :-) I loved basically everything but my faves were you describing how worried Finch was, how Reese felt coming down those stairs (and holding onto Finch), and Reese's smirks and Finch's snarky comment. Even better was the ending with your title, made me feel Reese is more resolved to continue his work and protecting Finch. You made me do a tiny fangirl squeal on the inside when you wrote that "most importantly he was safe", Finch's mere presence confirming it, (an odd feeling since Finch is crippled and not holding any kind of weapon, at lease Maura Isles had a gun to protect Jane Rizzoli even if Isles wasn't trained to shoot). I hope you are inspired to write more episode related fics since you capture their feelings so well, past and future episodes. :-)

Nicely done! Very smooth story flow and totally in character for both - especially Finch's plan to end Mr. Snow's interference. My only question would be Finch's reason for fully disclosing the identities of his other employees to Reese. (I'm going by Finch's comment in the pilot episode that intimates that John Reese is not his real name.) Are the names of the others also aliases, or is this disclosure further indication of Finch's trust in Reese? No matter. This reminds

me of Andrew Vaschss's style: very spare and direct. Please continue to develop this one.
