I think mistletoe originally had some kind of legend attached to it, that has pretty much been forgotten by now. Snowflakes, probably just because so many places do have Christmas with snow, and no idea about Christmas trees. You're right, though, it is interesting.

I like it when someone doesn't ask for reviews, because there are so many out there that beg or threaten for them. So I'll review! This is an interesting concept, and I plan on reading it until I either get to the end, or I can't cope with the craziness (that has been known to happen).

they have a pine tree, and mistletoe, because they stay green all winter. It's kind of connected to life and hope, even though everything appears dead. Lights originated as a way of expressing the warmth in ones heart (I think), it started with candles (the fire department was even busier back then). Cookies are because they taste good.
