Bu chapter 1 . 2/15/2015
Gosh, this is just a beautiful story. I like Steiner a lot, and I've always found his and Zidane's relationship to be really interesting. I wish more writers treated him as a complex character like you did here. I'm a little choked up, haha. I wish this was even longer so I could go on reading. Anyways, thank you for sharing. Your FFIX fics are really amazing.
HawkofNavarre chapter 1 . 12/4/2013
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Your depiction of the characters and their relationships are spot on. I will proceed to love this beautiful piece of literature forever. These little bits of heaven are the reason I always come back to FFnet.

Please continue to share your gifted writing with all of us! :) Thank you!
Ayrith chapter 1 . 8/5/2013
I loved it. A lot. Mostly, I loved how you fleshed out Zidane as the cool, silver tongued thief he was meant to be and turned Steiner's comic rage into something potent and real. The banter was spot on and Steiner's insults were getting more creative as the story continued. It made me laugh.

Great job.
Dr. Bauhaus chapter 1 . 5/1/2013
I must say, I absolutely LOVE your take on Zidane and Steiner! Honestly, I feel like those two characters alone have a vastly more interesting relationship than any other character in the entire Final Fantasy series. No joke. The ENTIRE series. I just feel that they and their relationship is so overlooked by people. They actually grow and develop through the game in terms of their relationship, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with romance. I think that that's just so freaking special!

But anyway, back to the fic! Again, your take on the characters was fantastic. I feel that all of the characters you wrote about were in-character and their interactions were believable. Your stories are very well-written; there were funny moments and moments that pulled at my heart strings. I do hope you continue to write (especially when it comes to Zidane and Steiner), because from what I see here, you're a great writer. Thanks for sharing these stories!

Hey, CrimsonCobwebs!

I must say, this is quite an entertaining piece. I liked all the different interactions between Steiner and Zidane, starting with their respective views of each other at the beginning and changing over time until they reach where they were at the end of the game. It is a well written piece and I very much enjoyed it.

Once again, you brighten my day with another story.

This one was really nice. It wasn't romance or friendship, but I still enjoyed the way Steiner's (and a bit of Zidane's) understanding evolved.

I love when you write for Vivi. You capture both his child side and his philosopher side brilliantly. I wish there were more opportunities for you to write for him.

I think one of my favorite parts about your writing is that you give enough detail to set the mood, the atmosphere, and the history, yet you don't linger too long on drawn out details. All your background details seem just as important to the story with the emotions you give to them and to the colorful way you use your words. I smile every time I see a Final Fantasy universe-based metaphor, simile, or swear.

You give so much life to everything, and in such a well-spaced amount. I just love your writing in general. If you do ever become published, please be sure to say so on your profile as I would be ecstatic to read an entire book by you.
Teranyre chapter 1 . 12/9/2011
Looks like you've done it again! Great story. I like this different angle you're approaching from in this one, examining a non-romantic relationship between two rival characters. Very different from what I've read of yours in the past-in a good way of course. You certainly should be glad to have written it.

Hope to see more like this in future! Well done. (:

sup3rl0z3r chapter 1 . 12/6/2011
I love you. Steiner is my favorite character and my favorite non-romantic relationship is Steiner/ Garnet. and though this is more about the development of his relationship with Zidane, this made me so happy. I had this ridiculous goofy grin on my face the whole time I was reading. Thanks for this one, I really enjoyed reading it, like, a lot.
DragonGirl323 chapter 1 . 12/6/2011
I really loved this. It was an absolutely wonderful fic of understanding and acceptance. I wish this much background had been given with Steiner's and Zidane's characters in the game. You've outdone yourself yet again. Great job! I can't wait to read more of your other fics. I adore your writing.

Sincerely,

Yumeko chapter 1 . 12/6/2011
WOW! I wasn't expecting to feel this emotional! I kind of got teary-eyed on the last two bits. I feel like what Vivi said may stick with me for the rest of my life- your words, really!

The last scene, when I realized what scene in the game it was, also really blew me away and made me smile like an idiot.

And the previous scene, with Zidane bringing in the prostitute, really was something as well. We're all so use to our protagonist being perfect- even if they do have flaws, its usually something cliche. But, that was... wow. That was a bro moment XD And I lol'd with Vivi. Vivi is such a good kid.

I love your writing! I must thank you for providing exactly what I love so much about FF9, even years and years after most of us have beaten it.
Katsumara chapter 1 . 12/6/2011
Very awesome here, CC. I loved it. Just.. too good. 3 me some Zidane and Dagger, but seeing this through Rusty's eyes was just fun as well.
stxrseekers chapter 1 . 12/6/2011
Another wonderful story from a wonderful author. I love how you explored Steiner's eventual accepting of Zidane, right from the beginning to end.

The sub-headings you used to describe each situation were accurate and simple, and I particularly enjoyed how it went from Steiner thinking Zidane was nothing but a thief to Zidane being the perfect match for Garnet.

The bit about the whore was hilarious and the part with Zidane's injury was serious; you had a nice contrast going throughout the entire story.

But I digress. Your story was amazing and I certainly hope to see more from you in the future! You never cease to amaze me with your talent.
