Tropicallight chapter 1 . 9/7/2019
It's really sweet
Guest chapter 1 . 2/23/2017
This shows a lot of insight into Riza's character-and Roy's, for that matter. But mostly my reaction to this was "oh my gosh, they're both dorks. Look at them staring and smiling at the other while he/she sleeps! Adhgdnnfg."
great gospel chapter 1 . 10/11/2012
This was simply perfect. Here I was expecting the usual bucket of angst (which I'm often guilty of myself, but it IS FMA), but You surprised me with this cheerful perspective. It was a very lovely piece.
jessi chapter 1 . 8/14/2012
Great story, I really liked it!
ValiantArcher chapter 1 . 6/8/2012
You've got a kind of sparse style here, which works quite well; it feels quite stable and steady, almost matter-of-fact. I like how Riza doesn't mourn anything that has been or could have been, but instead focuses on what's ahead. I often forget the grand scope and excitement of their dream due to their day-to-day work and slow plodding progress, not to mention their guilt, but it is actually quite a thrilling and daring plot to change the world. Nicely done. :)
Griselda Banks chapter 1 . 5/25/2012
I really liked this small, quiet little piece. So many people jump on the (admittedly awesome) buckets of angst inherent in a relationship like theirs, but I really do think that most of the time they're content like this. They both know that they love each other, and for now, that's all that matters while they get other things done.

Great writing!
Disastergirl chapter 1 . 1/30/2012
This is really very, very beautiful. I love the repetition of 'she has known this for a while', it gives the story a peaceful, poetic quality. I also love the way you've captured their relationship, the sadness and sacrifice of their lives and the fact that they can't be together but also all the good things too, which I think often get overlooked. Even though they've lost the chance to do so many things, they still have reasons to be proud and excited about the future and I think it's brilliant that this fic shows that.
kalirush chapter 1 . 1/28/2012
This is a really lovely character study. I think you capture Riza's attitude and her relationship with Roy amazingly well. I love that she accepts the probability that she will never be with Roy, and the near-certainty that she won't have kids. This is so beautifully thought out and executed.
mebh chapter 1 . 1/27/2012
This is so beautiful and I am shocked it hasn't received a review yet. Shocked.

Three things:

1 - Riza's voice is perfect. The decisions she has made, and her reflecting on them: wonderful. That she is not mourning the loss of children as she has her more important dream is very, very in keeping with her character. I love that you allow her to be excited even.

2 - The surprise and little play you make of Roy sleeping across from her, making the reader question what you've written so far. I almost forgot the set-up of them being on the train, so convinced was I that they must have been closer physically as this was taking place... you threw me... it was very clever.

3 - The volta: knowing that now that Hawkeye sleeps, Mustang will probably repeat the process all over again.

I loved this.
