Haunting, but perfect for the characters
princessitsy chapter 1 . 3/14/2014
Freaking hell how have I not read this before. It's absolutely gorgeous in it's devastation.

That entire bit about her not being able to call him, her mind being alphabet soup, she was empty etc etc...I am undone with how accurate it all feels.
BrookeGreene chapter 1 . 12/31/2012
Oh this is amazing and beautiful and I love it so much.

"He hugs her tighter, presses a kiss against her hairline under the cover of his answer. "Why would it change anything? You've always been the strongest person I've ever known."

(Because the thing is, he's always suspected that all she sees is the cracks, the places where she's put herself back together. But he's always seen the whole, sees how they just cast dancing shadows when the rest of her catches the light.)"
Sorry for pasting such a long quote but this part is just... I'm going to cry. Fuck this story is so beautiful.
Ju57m3 chapter 1 . 3/28/2012
This is very well written. I lost my husband in a plane crash. He survived 2 days in Intensive care unit. He was conscious till the end. Beckett's feelings, as you made them up here, are mine.
LadyAilith chapter 1 . 12/18/2011
I have no words to say how incredible this is, so I'll just say thank you...
anonymous.individual chapter 1 . 11/28/2011
Ngaw... that was beautiful :)
trishtumbles chapter 1 . 11/28/2011
This story was beautiful. Angst, but not sad... I guess it was hopeful angst, if that makes sense?

As someone who feels damaged like Kate (but not through PTSD) Killshot really struck a chord with me, made me think about how I was living my life and going through the motions. So your story was lovely and drew me in and made me hopeful. So thank you for putting it out there, I really appreciate it.
Lydia Bell chapter 1 . 11/26/2011
It's headcanon for me that Beckett went through a severe depressive episode over the summer, and this is a painfully good portrayal of that. That part of her that didn't care that she'd survived, that didn't want her to call Castle, that didn't think she deserved him... depression is so insidious because it's your own mind attacking itself. This story just makes so much sense, in an awful way.
keal chapter 1 . 11/14/2011
Absolutely beautiful! You did a great job of showing how mental illness can make a person stronger in their weakest moments. I really loved that she showed him her scar, so much more intimate than any sex scene. The ending was so perfect; it was definitely Caskett.
SpacesInbetween chapter 1 . 11/13/2011
This is absolutely beautiful. I love the tenderness and trust. And I find her showing him her scar way more intimate than any sex scene. Loved it x
Kaz chapter 1 . 11/12/2011
