Your grammar and writing skills are quite good but... Okay, here's the issue I have with this story; it looks as though Flora feels so inadequate that in order to feel she has values to others she fakes that she can make good cookies. I think that when Clive found out about her secret she would've reacted more ashamedly (as that would've been more in-character for her), and that Clive should've encouraged Flora to tell Layton and Luke the truth herself. Upon Flora's revealing the true source of the cookies, I believe Layton would've reassured Flora that her value as a person isn't dependent on her baking abilities, or any 'thing' her friends can gain through her at all... but that they care about her for who she is - a sweet young lady and a dear friend. Here; because Clive just hid Flora's secret, she is going to continue lying to her adopted family, and go on believing that she isn't enough as-is when she could've learned a truth that made her feel less inadequate, and that's just sad. But as I said before you wrote this pretty well, I just have an issue with the message that a deception like this is a good thing.

A cute and sweet story~ I felt my mouth water after saying the word "cookies" over and over again XD. I wouldn't do for a cookie after reading such sweet little story, after all, that's what a gentleman does XD

Somehow, I knew she was faking it! But wow, you played it out quite well. I love how you know how to make the characters act so smoothly-and that little scene with Clive melted my heart. Excellent job.

You are a brilliant author. Laughed at this part SO much:

"No mysterious goo was seeping out of the cookies, they weren't discolored in any way, and they weren't bubbling furiously or covered in gravy…yes, that had happened before. But their normal appearance was exactly what was suspicious. After all, this was Flora who'd baked them…

"Now, who wants to be the first to try one?" Flora asked, picking a warm cookie off the baking sheet and waggling it in the air, the smell drifting towards the boys, catching them by surprise once more: They didn't smell like laundry detergent or burning oil this time.

The Professor gulped and took a wary step forward, knowing that he was expected to be the first to try any new and potentially dangerous things, Flora's cooking falling more towards the "dangerous" side of that group."
