Noooo why did he leave, this definitely made my heart ache XDXD You know I'm not fond of the anime's ending compared to the novel/manga, but I really loved your fic, it's a beautiful way to end it... even though it's still heartbreaking XD But at least there's the promise to reunite. This concise and bittersweet story was wonderfully written, and incredibly in-character. I could practically picture it all unfolding in the anime as I read it! The ending was perfect, too, and as much as my hopeless romantic heart wishes Nezumi had stayed with Shion, deep down I know that it's more meaningful that they're separated to be reunited again. And you did a great job of presenting Nezumi's internal struggle. Shion's little poem in the end broke my heart a little, though ;-;

And then his reunion promise.

And then Nezumi noting "Ugh, terrible! Just you wait, Shion. I'll never let you live this down."

That was pretty original . And very in character. Wow. I'm really impressed by all of this.

So interactive with all these little tips that you had the reader thinking about.

How Nezumi noted that Shion was a Mama's Boy, and how he guessed immediately what Shion's dreams were about, but then quietly told himself about how Shion wouldn't be blushing if he knew about some of the dreams that Nezumi *coughcoughcough* had.

Then Safu giving both of them her blessing.

Then Shion being unpredictable, and at the very end...

"There's something else I'd like for us to do today."

I really liked this! It’s heartbreaking that Nezumi’s still leaving, but at least he stayed an extra day.

Sion’s poem is so sweet, especially the “Though now, we're not as one, But equal halves instead” part. I can totally imagine Nezumi tormenting him because of the poem when/if he goes back, haha.

The implicit sex went really well, I guess the fanfic would loose the tone you created if it were another way.

oh man i WISH that's how it ended. i love how this story fills in the gap for a lot of things. i have to admit, i'm a sucker for this more affectionate version of nezumi (who admits to himself how he feels about shion). great story. thanks for writing!

that was delightfully in character... i love nezumi's train of thought. he comes across rather sweet. the dialogue is just right! for both of them! I love the way you're writing this, I could be reading the novel.

Oh wow, I loved this so much! The first person POV is great here - I love all the little insights we get into Nezumi's mindset because of that. This just all felt so wonderful and in character for both of them. I loved how easily they came together, too~ This is kind of exactly how I picture it going for them - no struggle or question, just sort of giving in to what has always felt inevitable. *happy sigh* Such a wonderful alternate ending! I really, really hope you write more for them. _
