Thanks for writing this. I felt the same way you did. Hopefully Damon will get the chance to express his deeper feelings about his brother in later episodes.

I think there is so much focus on Elena's feelings for Stefan that Damon's claim gets over looked. There really is nothing stronger than a blood bond, esp siblings. I mean Stefan's whole reason for leaving with Klaus was to save Damon. I'm sure there is some part of him that is doing it to keep Elena safe and hidden from Klaus but really it was all about his brother.
