Reviews for Wolves at the Gate
YellowShoes chapter 25 . 4/9/2013
I haven't read A Sorta Fairytale yet but I would be looking into it soon. Wow! Another great story from an awesome author. I've been reading your FF8 fics for the past few days and every single one of them had been worth my time. This one wasn't different from the others; how it was written so well and was so emotionally captivating that I find myself crying in one chapter and laughing in the other. Thank you so much for writing these stories. I really appreciate the effort and the time that you put in them.
Seiftis chapter 25 . 12/28/2012
altol, no matter what you write, I love them. When I saw a story with you as the author, I know that I will be reading a good one, no doubt. Touching story, this one.
Lett chapter 11 . 5/5/2012
I read both this version and A Sorta Fairytale... in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I can't decide which version is better because, well... on the one hand, a part of me is tearing up because their end had to come like that in this story (there could have been another way their story could end!) but at the same time, at the other story, while I'm cheering for their happy ending, it left me kind of unsatisfied as well. It wasn't as intense (no whirlwind of emotions that culminated in the destruction of the prison, etc). But, there could have been another way (instead of just submitting like that. Augh.)

Anyway, thank you. Excellent writing, especially since the story was actually able to engage emotions. You've fleshed out the characters quite well and had a gripping storyline! I giggled and cried while reading through some parts. And there were some brilliant lines - "...she came to save herself: to remember the girl she used to be-the girl who had loved him once, when she'd been able to love..." that just really touched me. I do look forward to the end of your hiatus and reading more. In the meantime, I'm off to read Message in a Bottle. :)
DarkPrincess-Adidas chapter 1 . 4/19/2012
I loved this story so much! Very sad but wonderful
Valkyrie Wilde chapter 25 . 3/18/2012
Wow. There are hardly words. 25 chapters and I was utterly captivated by every single one. This has been an incredible journey. Towards the end I found myself feeling fake nostalgia for Seifer and Quistis, for moments long gone that only exist because you created them. It was wishful thinking to believe they could have lived happily ever after, but at least they were together. I don't know how I feel about Squall being the one to end it all, but I suppose there really wasn't anyone else. Excellent story!
Auberon chapter 1 . 2/24/2012
I'm surprised there aren't more reviewers leaving feedback because this is a fantastic story thus far. I think you've really gotten under the characters' skins to weave a beautiful history between Quistis and Seifer. It's a rather new take on the relationship, showing a more realistic approach to adolescence within military confines. On to the next chapter!
erichai chapter 25 . 1/25/2012
Did I review this fic already? Well, I just briefly re-read some chapters that I really enjoyed the first time round and just have to say it was equally enjoyable the 2nd read! You have some serious skill with writing and storytelling- Are you a real published author? Well if not, its fine to keep writing just for the sake of it. We all enjoy it nonetheless! Your writing is so introspective, character-driven yet very action-packed! The characters are very complex and multi-dimensional! I liked how original and entertaining the plot was! Keep up the amazing work and can't wait for more from you!
trishika chapter 25 . 12/28/2011
I was literally on the verge of tears. This is so incredibly emotional, and I really love the realism of this fic, in considering the structural violence that world political economic systems impose. You take what appears to be essentially a very fantastical story and create a social commentary which causes us not only to question our initial interpretations of the game's story in who's the good/bad guy, but also the way we view our every day lives. We have become so preoccupied with money and consumerism and power and harming others that we've forgotten what really matters - love and emotions. But of course, in both the game world and this world, where everyone is under the illusion of the status quo being the "given" and "indisputable", we cannot tolerate difference and questioning, and thus, Quistis and Seifer never had a change, did they? The bottom line is, well done for such beautiful characterisations and such an amazing story, and also for thinking and reflecting on much deeper and wider issues than most fanfictions consider.
Kevcn9 chapter 25 . 11/12/2011
She understands, as they did, that the tragedy is not to die...but not to live.

EPIC.

I look forward to reading more of your work. Never let your passion for writing waver. You have a gift :) Don't hesitate to share it with the world!
Maaya chapter 1 . 11/2/2011
Let me begin by saying im not a regular on so I usually select what to read based on the number of reviews a story has. But when i saw YOU had a new story posted, i went ahead and read it. It was a good decision on my part bec this is one awesome fanfic! If only i can leave you a million reviews to express exactly how moving this well-written piece of lit is. Impressive as usual! I hope you keep on writing and inspiring people like me with your work. :)

This was beautiful and raw. I loved it.
Mischka chapter 25 . 10/14/2011
Glad to know that there are still great SeiferxQuistis stories out there. Despite the sad ending, I totally loved it. It was just the right amount of heartbreak.
gingerbutnotaweasley chapter 25 . 10/14/2011
Another amazing story, Altol, totally blew me away.
quistis04 chapter 25 . 10/13/2011
Finished reading it. And My God! Almost every chapter made me cry. It was beautifully written. I always love the characterization of Quistis and Seifer in your fics. And the end, I think will haunt me for days to come.
