Dear author... reading Itachi's confession and why he did what he did was AWESOME. I didn't think he'd come clean the way he did... I guess he just couldn't take it anymore... knowing what Shisui was up to in his room, pining for him all that time... And again - that confrontation with Shizuka when she found out was explosive! Things about Shizuka and her treatment of Shisui began to make more sense for me when she told him he wasn't allowed to leave her... because he was Kiyoko's son (also - I forgot to mention this before, but I love the idea that bc Shisui is from Osaka, his natural fallback is Kansai ben -and that he shed that, along with everything else the "old him" used to be when he fled to Tokyo). It was telling how Itachi picked up on his change in speech - when I read that, it made me wonder if he felt like Shisui shed him to... along with his native dialect. I just can't with this story - it is so incredibly nuaned and sharply written - I spent all day reading these three chapters and words can't express how much I love this story and your writing. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this with us!

Dear author, I ADORED this ch 2! I loved learning about what happened to Shisui when he first left Konoha for the big city, and getting all that background on his history with Mei.

But of course, my favorite part was learning more about Shisui's childhood. I get the sense that Shizuka was trying to get time with Shisui... time that she lost with her own daughter. But she went about it in the worst way possible.

I also loved reading how Shisui came to be Hinata's tutor, and reading the parallels between the Hyuuga in this AU and how they're portrayed in canon.

It was also fascinating to read about Shisui's hs girlfriend, and of course - what happened with her brother... but MOST OF ALL: I was shocked to hear what Itachi did... TWICE.

Dear author - I AM IN AWE OF YOUR WRITING. I read the paragraphs describing the distinction between Shisui and Itachi, and the difference between true genius and simply being good at everything six times...it's SENSATIONAL! The Itachi that's described in this chapter reminds me of the Itachi in canon - the Itachi that can only see things in black and white... and it's beyond perfect.

Ok, I need to actually stop reading this ch 2 so I can finally get on to Ch 3. Thank you so much for wriitng and sharing another incredible installment with us!

Dear author, this was such an awesome and engrossing opening chapter! I love how Shisui is written here - learning about his life in Tokyo, and how he compares Mei to Don Draper (perfect!) I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE the way ALL the women in the story are written here and appreciate how different they all are.

Like Mikoto, for example... she seems like the quiet, reserved motherly type - but learning the truth about her childhood car accident leads me to believe that there's mettle underneath that softness and gentility. And I love that in this AU, a matriarch presides over the Uchiha... and I love how bitter and bitchy the matriarch is.

I obsessively clung to every word in this chapter, but my absolute favorite scene has to be the one where Shisui meets Shizuka for the first time and they discuss his mother. Reading the description of Kiyoko, and how Shisui saw similarities between the imperfect mother he loved and his cantankerous salty bitch grandmother was incredible, and I LOVED how he threw his tea in her face.

I also ADORED the introduction we got to Itachi here. I'm amazed how every scene involving Itachi spoke volumes about him - it's incredible how this 6 years old dutifully carried up a tray of food for this new relative that will apparently be living with them now and will share his room... most kids would throw a tantrum, or wouldn't have the patience or motor skills to do what he did in that first scene, but this told me so much about his character. Of course he's a year ahead in school, and independently wakes up at 6am every day to do his morning exercises! SO WEIRD AND CUTE.

But what I wondered the most after this Ch1 is: why did Shisui sneak out of mikoto's house and run away seven years ago? Was it bc of horrible Shizuka? She is obviously a terrible human,but according to mikoto, the grandmother is the one who ordered that Shisui be brought to Konoha... so why would she drive him away? I have so many questions, and can't wait to see where you take the story next! Thank you so much for writing and sharing this AWESOME ch 1 with us!

I re-read this a second time just now. I read it before on live journal and I must say, I truly adore your work. You're a natural talent with such a brilliant handle on the English language. If you look at the profile page, I even have a quote from this story on it from a while ago.

I hope you finish this story one-day, as I do want to see what happens but I also understand if you have other obligations, I know what being a writer is like.

Anyway, beautifully written. A true work of art.

I wish I could read your ending to this brilliant beginning. I am loving the cruel ache of past betrayal and hints of a persisting love that years cannot abate? How I missed your works miss!

My dearest author, might I just first and foremost say that I am in love with all of your stories? But I am so sad that you have not updated this wonderful story for a while. It's truly beautiful and Itachi and Shisui's relationship have me hooked. I hope to find out what happens after this, whether or not Itachi's still in love with Shisui and so on.
