Aww I loved this story, I'm glad I got to read it.

This was a sad but well written story. I really enjoyed it, especially with it having a happy ending. Also thank you for the footnotes about Kagura's punishment and the shrine maidens. However I do wish you would have also included notes on foreign terms. I was rather confused about the pipe Sesshoumaru was smoking and a note on it at the end would have been welcome. Anyway this was a good story showcasing a terrible tragedy that many women face. I'm glad you wrote this and hope it demonstrates hope to those who need reminded that they can overcome such a terrible thing.

...I think you're misunderstanding what a geisha was and is. I've read over several of your fics, and you've likened geisha to prostitutes, which is an incorrect statement.

True, that is a highly misconstrued fact (generally with Westerners) and a lot of people don't know the differences, but let me assure you: Geisha didn't put out.

There was, in fact, a ceremonial deflowering of a maiko's virginity.. which, back in the day, was the way they transitioned into becoming geisha.. but the maiko herself didn't receive the bidder's money, the owner of the okiya did.

There's quite a bit more to it than that, but I just felt that, (after having read several chapters and fics of yours at this point) you needed to be aware of the misinterpretation.

I hope no one found your second chapter offensive. Because, in truth, you are very correct. I have studied the history and beliefs of Japan dating to around 600AD to current, and you are very accurate. Sex was also used as a weapon, women within the Ninja corp. would slowly adept their bodies to be accept a poison. Then they would have sex with whoever was their target, and because their bodies could handle a lethal dose of the poison is would be expelled in their sweat and saliva during sex and would kill their target. The downside of course was that they could only have sex with an enemy because they could not go off the poison to maintain their tolerance, plus their bodies had become so adept to the poison that going off the poison would actually kill them. It was a great read, not only into the actual history of the times, but the mentality of a rape victim, which I am sad to say I am among one of many. You represented us very well. I hope it is not from personal experience, however, if it is. You have come a long way, if not, you have a very sympathetic soul. I can't wait to read the sequel.

P.S. A quote from a movie An Eye for an Eye and A Tooth for a Tooth will always make a more grammatical equation than Turning the Other Cheek
