This is very good. I knew she'd die but i did NOT expect the man to care. Yet, it is so believable that he did care at the end. (You've got an extra quotation mark at the end of the second-to-last line that kind of jumbles the emotional climax though.)

Great plot. Excellent writing, and fits the continuity of the characters and show perfectly. I know you posted this awhile ago, but I just had to let you know, great, enthusiastic authors like yourself are why I have been a member for over 10 years now. Maybe on day I'll be brave enough to post something myself.

I just started watching this show and it had me hooked. What an intriguing character and he portrays him so well. I immediately came on here and was surprised only one story was up! But I've enjoyed your first chapter immensely :) will read on!

Sweet. Reminds me of my sister, who has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Symptoms aren't exactly the same, but she definitely had a limited, lonely childhood.

Love the show, the way people are always somehow connected. Love how we don't know whether the man is God, the Devil, an alien, some weird gov't program, etc. Though the Doris in your story seems 1st season Doris and not 2nd season Doris, where she gets some hard edges and gets a little threatening. Hmmm.

Anyway, I enjoyed this. I enjoy the show and suddenly decided to see if there were any fics. You are the first! :P
