You're not wrong in your notes about characters being slightly ooc at times, but that doesn't really bother me. All in all I think you've managed to keep every character true enough to their original selves. Don't stop now! I want to know if they ever get out of France! :)

Aldo seems a bit OOC in this chapter. Maybe I'm just spoiled, but I always expect journal entries to be written the way the person talks. And in this case, it's with a down home, southern, Tennessee accent and a lot of redneck sayings.

But, hey, it's your story. Maybe Aldo's journal was published into a book and the editor tried to take out everything that wasn't grammatically correct and replace it with what was.

And as for Landa... that grinning weasel of a man would be trying to manipulate Aldo into letting him 's the only thing I can think of that would make the colonel cry.
