This made me laugh. It's a nice short little Gobber Hiccup bonding fic done in true Gobber fashion. I can definitely see this as a story Gobber would be telling Hiccup. Very funny and still well written. I like it and I'm favoriting it.

I shall never be a blacksmith now. Ever. Well, at least not on Berk. That is a strange coincidence, isn't it? I'm kinda terrified now. Very well written! I'm going to go read more!

This was really super cute! I think I may have considered the missing-limb similarities but I had no idea the disaster went back that far. It makes me love Gobber all the more.

Hahaha, this was a really great story! I can totally see Gobber telling Hiccup that story, which can't always be said when it comes to my imagination :) I really like how Hiccup actually likes his metal foot. It's a viewpoint not shared all that often, and I'm glad it was brought to the table. All in all, great job!

Really just a great moment between these characters. The dialogue was all spot on. And I can totally see Gobber being superstitious about the whole thing. A

What a relief, for awhile I thought that curse was real. LOL

Typical of Gobber. A great mentor but bad storytelling.

This was a nice story. It was simple and shows how much Gobber cares for Hiccup and how he usually acts.

Oh Gobber! I could totally see something like this happening. He seemed so serious too, so it was almost funny seeing how bad it actually was. Hiccup seemed to take it all in stride, but if he ended up being the main blacksmith years on, I could see him telling his apprentice something like that for kicks too.

This was a good read!

Imagine my surprise at finding one of my favorite Harry Potter/fairy tale authors writing for one of my new favorite fandoms! Just saw the HTTYD movie recently and I have a lot to catch up on.

This was a pretty adorable little domestic scene. I was snickering at Gobber's dramatic reluctance to relay the story and Hiccup's initial indulgence followed by genuine interest. This works well as a standalone or a prelude to something longer.
