Wow, what a powerful story, and it captures Erik so perfectly. The section with Schmidt was so painful to read, and the section with Charles was painful in a whole other way. I wish he had been able to say it out loud, too.

What a sad, tragic story. And jet so wonderful. I fits perfectly for Erik and Charles. He must have died inside with every step he took on that beach. Away from Charles.
