It's not Rene Benoit that Director Shepard should be focused on. It actually should be Trent Kort. I remember that episode from Season 5 very well. It was implied that Kort gripped the hands of Jen's father in such a way that it made it look like suicide; he also did that to Benoit as well... If Gibbs can somehow prove that Kort was responsible, then Jen can finally be at peace with what happened...

That's interesting... Maybe Gibbs can help Jen realize that Trent Kort caused her father's "suicide"...

I take back what I said in my earlier posting and will elaborate on the details here because I fell that I rushed on the previous posting.

My suggestion to you: Do an improved version of the time-travel story you are currently doing, but making Gibbs the central character of the story.

Where the story should start: During Gibbs' surgery in the Season 13 premiere, which takes place two days after he was shot by Luke Harris in the Season 12 finale.

What would cause the time travel: Gibbs would die in the surgery, as opposed to surviving like he did in canon; just before he dies, he wishes to break the chains of pain and suffering he has witnessed and endured over the years which began with Kate's death.

What would happen next: Gibbs would wake up on the morning of the day that Kate is supposed to die at Ari's hand. What results is a wiser, honest (since no knows about Sharon and Kelly), and more experienced Gibbs who is armed with knowledge of the future (over a decade's worth since Kate's death) and an expanded version of Team Gibbs (including Ziva and Bishop) ready to take on anything that comes their way!

I'm a guest reviewer (which means you won't be able to reply to this posting) and I have a suggestion that you should do a better NCIS time travel story. Here is what the plot should be like:

It should begin after Gibbs gets shot in the Season 12 finale; however, instead of surviving the surgery in the Season 13 premiere, he would end up dying... but not before he wished some things ended up differently... At that point, he would be sent back to the day that Kate died (since the chain of pain and suffering inflicted on Gibbs had started here), but somehow, much like this story, the minds of his teammates (those that still live, including Ziva) somehow get dragged along with him (due to their strong "family" bond to each other). The story should be about a wiser, more mature Team Gibbs armed with knowledge of the future who have no secrets between them.

OH MY GOD I NEED THIS TO BE CONTINUED. LIKE, I NEED ZIVA IN THIS, AT THE VERY LEAST. Have you totally given up on it? I promise I'm not judging or anything, just PLEASE. This is too good.

Schweet. This story was much missed. I went back and read through all of it again and I just... :D I enjoy it so much.

At the end of this chapter all I can think is that of course Gibbs would be worried about her, I don't imagine he expected her to already be in so deep. And it's kind of entertaining when Jenny says that she can't read him anymore, but is doing rather a good job at it.

Still pretty darn excited for when Abby sees Jenny again. I can so easily see Abby forgetting herself and hugging Jenny then realizing she'd oopsed and sort of awkwardly backing off. And Jenny probably commenting on not remembering the personnel being so exuberant.

I'm also excited about Abby and McGee's relationship. Just based on your first chapter, it looks like McGee's figured out she's pretty darn important to him, and I do hope that they get together.

Oh man this is exciting. I'm on the edge of my seat. Ziva coming in will be interesting? Does she know? Oh but then that would mess with her relationship with Tony. But oh oh oh. This is so exciting!

Yay! You're back! Great chapter. It's intriguing, with half of them knowing what has happened, and the rest not. A perfect idea... I literally can't wait to see what comes next!
