I went looking for old Bones fics and found this, it's phenomenal! I so wish they had shown more of his reaction and them telling people, even if it was in a flashback :)

Goodness, me. 71 reviews for one chapter? After reading this, I can see why. I have watched neither a full episode of Bones nor the finale, but this was enormously tender and heartwarming! The readability was perfect - your dialogue is flawless, the narration is perfect, and it all comes together with much character and emotion. I loved his insistence that he was going to be with her during her pregnancy every step of the way; it's a good contrast from what she thought his initial reaction was.

And is a cab really the first way that they met? If so, then your story title is perfect, as is the last paragraph. For some reason, that caught me as particularly brilliant, and for that reason I recommend you keep this as a one-shot. There's just a sweet emotional finality by the end of the chapter. To add more might lessen its impact somehow.

A wonderful fic! Things aren't going to go this smoothly in canon, of course, but that's (at least partially) because drama plot.

I particularly like that you've ended this with Booth and Brennan getting into a cab together - finally in the same literal and metaphorical places as one another, having at last come full circle.
