And I have to agree with you on that part about 'rape'. People nowadays treat it very lightly when really, it's anything but.

This was amazing! I absolutly agree with you. The internet does use rape as a backstory. Its not something you fuck with. My best friend was almost raped as well as another friend was sexually assaluted. She has moved on but it can leave a lot of mental scars, and with this story you showed it very well. I love it.

That was amazing, you put a lot of emotion and detail to this story and I loved every minute of it. You have an amazing talent with literature. Keep it up:)

I am a little confused about what I just read but I do understand it somewhat. So Francis raped Matthew? And Matthew was trying to suppress this memory? This seems really realistic and I think that Matthew's feelings are portrayed really nicely. Great job! :D

...Wow. God, I know exactly what all these feelings are like - and especially the unearthly detachment from myself. I also know what it's like to have to force myself to return to my own body, and to wonder if it's really mine. I haven't been raped, but I'm living the same situation as Matt, with my two wonderful friends in the place of Alfred. Depression takes a toll. :(

I love this story and the way you were able to seriously grasp the concept and just portray everything so beautifully. It actually brought me to tears. Yes, it did screw with my mind a bit but I still absolutely loved it. I just adore the way you were able to describe eveything so perfectly; the memories, Matthew's thoughts and emotions to everything that was happening, the serious importance of the concept. Really, great job.

This story is brilliantly written, and you handled the topic of sexual abuse quite well. And I agree, it can be overused. But you have a story here that's a perfect blend of tramatic and adorable (: I enjoyed it a lot.

I really liked this story (I have a bizarre love for the dark and morbid), but I do have one question, just out of curiosity, did Matthew ever tell Alfred what happened to him in the past? And I agree with you, the internet does tend to make light the effects rape has on people, so thank you for a story that reflects more toward reality.

I was honestly hesitant to read this. Rape is an extremely sensitive issue and one that makes me very angry. However I was very appreciative of the way you wrote it. Though this story is very dark and painful I really do like it. Thank you for giving it the seriousness it deserves and not having it be something thrown in that doesn't seem to matter. The time jumps were not too confusing, once you explained that they were going backwards in time. Again thank you for writing this story.

Fabulous, just fabulous. It got a little sappy here and there, but never in an unbearable way. I loved the past-to-present bouncing you did, although I can say that it would be hard to find it confusing in any way. It's very straight-forward, and that's not a bad thing.

you really grasped the subject of how much a simple yet utterly life changing fact can really hit and hurt a person. Many people write about the physical hurt, but you really went deep with the mental aspect of how rape as a child can effect someone. I congradulate you on your portrayal of Canada and his mental hell that he endured.

This is so cool! It's wonderfully mindscrewy, and the somehwat literary style adds to it.

As to rape, its clear you tried really hard to make it not an add on. And Matthew's dissociation makes this the most realistic portrayal I've ever read. I don't know too much about it, but this is nothing if not a respectful and effective portrayal.
