Good story, there was a couple of funny lines that had me chuckling. It was well written and sweet.

Oh, that line: Lestrade was still quite competent in the area of withering looks *yep, i want to see one or two of those in the next series*

I still love this! And about the title: it's very clever! It even has a double meaning and everything (shared experience as in: shared nightmares, but could also be John and Lestrade sharing the experience of Sherlock keeping them awake)

Why am I explaining that... you probably named it this because of the double meaning, so you know that already, but i thought i'd let you know ;)
