You write the story quite well. I have few complaints presently: you organize the battles beautifully and realistically, as well as Rui's interactions, you write Cipher and Snagem quite well, and you show nicely what Shadow Pokémon can be like, not to mention Wes and Rui's histories.

Aside from your update schedule—and I do understand why—my only complaint is that you had Wes release Entei. I mean, sure, I'd expect him to let Entei go…but I'd also expect Entei to want to have a part in freeing his counterparts first. *Shrugs.* Anyway, phenomenal story, and I await the next part with equal parts eagerness and patience.

So, Rui is now able to battle on her own. Positive character development and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of her team.

And it seems that Team Snagem and Cipher are having a bit of a falling out. Not only is Cipher taking from Snagem, but Gonzap is preparing to retaliate. I'm looking forward to that, since if memory serves he just works for Cipher in Colosseum and doesn't rebel until Gale of Darkness.

I noticed a few typos in this chapter though. Whenever you wrote "Pokemon" in the Phenac scene the word would double and Pokeball was messed up in the Snagem scene.

Been a while since I read any of this, so when the chapter alert popped up, I reread the whole thing in one go!
Glad I did, though, I really enjoy the tone you write this story in. Orre-style grittiness and overall it's more realistic with all the different sorts of details written in that a lot of other fanfiction tends to skip or gloss over. And, in retrospect, the details of the different gangs was a nice touch.
You also portray battles fantastically, and I quite enjoy your snarky version of Wes.
No rush intended at all, but I'm really looking forward to how the rest of the story takes shape!

Oh, I love this! Especially the dynamic between Rui and Wes - epic! So much fun xD

I also like how you make everything seem more... natural than in the game. Like, with Wes figuring out that "calling" a pokemon will make it snap out of Hyper Mode, and releasing Entei, and those Ein Files... Everything fits together.

Also, poor Wes. If it isn't Rui ordering him around it's Ivory and Ebony. Can't catch a break, that guy.

Really liking the divergences from the game.
Surprised about Entei though. Maybe he still gets Ho-oh?

I really enjoyed this chapter. Lots of things cleared up, some interesting back story, etc. The character development was rather entertaining to read as well. The mythos of the backstory, while having some information left out, was quite solid. The idea of the Aura Guardians is also quite interesting.
Vander losing his trainers was certainly a large change from the game, one that could likely yield some interesting consequences.
I wonder, could Rui's father have had reasons to keep her from having Pokemon of her own?Something related to her being a future 'guardian,' perhaps? Only time will tell.
Several Shadows purified. Nice.
With Rui getting her own team, that should be interesting to see which ones she gets. She certainly has a good selection to choose from. Plusle is almost definitely going to be one of the members.
