Gotta love how the story is essentially a catfight between Roderick and Gilbert over Ludwig.

WHeeew, what a maelstrom of consent issues, and poor Lugwig! But also this kid has a terrifyingly duo of powerful and unstable and ultimately selfish peeps vying for his affections. I can see how it's exhilirating, but also, poor Ludwig!

And Ludwig feeling like he whored himself out breaks my heart.

Given it's been seven years I'm guessing it's probably fairly safe to assume this won't be updated. That's ok tho I'm going to imagine that Ludwig escapes from both these obsessive and rapey jerks and lives a long fulfilling life as a doctor... :( Or a diplomat or jurist but independent from Roderich, and learns to make healthy connections with other people, ahhhhh! Like Feliciano. Who is probably dead. I would definitely be curious to see where you were planning go with this one though. It's obviously all going to fall apart, but I really can't root for either of the pairings to pan out, given what they've put the kid through. Then there's the inevitability and soul-crushing reality of the great war.

Anyway, I've read quite a few of your fanfics, and I'm always impressed by your ability to spin an enthralling story, with characterisation constantly on point. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is my favourite! The warnings on Zachem Ya has freaked me out quite a bit, but maybe someday.

This story brings back such good momories of a simpler time and every few years I always come back and read your stories. I even remember when your name was TwistedGoth! Thank you for writing this. Oh dear why is everyone in this so problematic! There were so many stages and points where all of this could have been avoided but the characters are just way to prideful or naïve. Just UUGHH this is so frustrating to read but it's just SO GOOD. The angst is amazing and the overal characterization of everyone is my favorite thing about this.

Ahhhghgh, this chapter, though- It was so hard to just sit there and enjoy the literature because the constant nag of how deep of a hole Ludwig was falling into overshadowed everything and made it hard to read anything. x'D I feel such secondhand anxiety for Ludwig, and it doesn't help that he's giving off more mixed signals than a pregnant woman- vcyctvyvubuibbujb this story so far has been incredibly appealing, beautifully-written, and then some. You take the characters we know and then twist them around so that they're still the Roderich or Gilbert or Ludwig we're familiar with buy they're now extremely fleshed out and deep and so very realistic and it's the most amazing thing and I can't even express how much I adore your writing. Wow, I'm really content with how you depicted Arthur's character, yet at the same time I'm so extremely suspicious of those flowers and if not the flowers then of Gilbert and the story is almost over so something big is about to happen and this chapter was generally happy so I'm scared to see what will happen next-

You include so many little details and I can never tell if they're just to describe the scene or if they'll be relevant later on; for example, you'd mentioned that there as a threat of Ludwig's illness coming back, so I'd internally braced for that and it never happened. Then it was Feliciano, and now the nail that Ludwig had scratched himself on. Relevant or detail? I feel like probably detail but I'm so paranoid and /god/ the Russian (Ivan?), I'm suffering; what does he know, how does he know, what does he want, s o b-

Ahhhh, I don't think a million words will ever describe how great your writing is. ;; You describe settings and scenery very well, and at the same time you don't overdo it with boatloads of information that weigh down paragraphs or the flow of the story.

I really like how the diction changes between the various points of view; Roderich's point of view, for example, is more noble than Gilbert's, who referred to Roderich's assistant as "that bitch". I just kind of giggled. xD

Hhhhh, things are starting to swell up in terms of the plot and just /holy crap/ the ending to this chapter, though- I'm excited as always to read more; thanks for the awesome chapter! Less than three. C:
