Reviews for Emotional
Lavender73 chapter 1 . 1/21
You write emotional pain so well. I felt this.
Lily S. Brett chapter 1 . 4/24/2012
Goodness, I love this, it's lovely. I felt like crying! Well done :)
Kornfuchs chapter 1 . 9/23/2011
A very sad but also beautiful story.
Nanyin chapter 1 . 4/6/2011
this was just that damn good
Linstock chapter 1 . 4/6/2011
An intriguing look at Spock and his family. The idea that Spock is emotionally damaged and unable to overcome his trauma and be the father his son needs or the husband his wife needs is both plausible and saddening. This is an imaginative and well conceived ficlet and could used as the base for a longer piece.
Lady Mac chapter 1 . 4/4/2011
Wow! A fascinating take on what could happen to Spock, and well-told. I loved the scene in the holodeck at the end, when Spock finally expresses himself and his son sees him not as this stoic figure that fathered him, but as a man who is broken and afraid and trying his hardest to do what he thinks is best.

Great writing. I'm off to check out the companion to this one.
Princesssarsa chapter 1 . 3/14/2011
Very nice story for your first story. It was very beautifully written and I liked Spock becoming more "vulcan" to deal with his loss. I know this story was between father and son but it would have been nice to see some more from Nyota.
LyradanaGreetsTheWind chapter 1 . 2/24/2011
Gosh, after stumbling across "Anchor" I raced to look for this piece. I am totally amazed, it is a lovely and beautiful story. Thank you for being so clever and for writing and sharing two such well crafted short stories. Are you thinking of any more? I think that they would be well received if you have the time or the inclination.
Firefly-class chapter 1 . 2/22/2011
I think you did a wonderful job as a first time writer. I hope you keep at it and we see more from you. This was an interesting premise for a story.
Nyotarules chapter 1 . 2/20/2011
I agree with the other revewier, I like the premise of this story, ooc Spock suffering from depression all these years. But I can't see Uhura sitting back and watch her son suffer the same prejudice and coldness that Spock recieved as a child. Plus chances are Spock Jnr is not the only Vulcan hybrid around, if the men outnumbered the women after the genocide there would be a mega increase in mixed marriages to keep the men from dying via Ponn Farr.
mcsgirl chapter 1 . 2/20/2011
This story fairly delivered within the construct you outlined, but the one thing that strikes me, at least, as a bit off, is Nyota's passivity when faced with her son's obvious pain.

That she does not reveal to him things that Spock does not want to share is one thing, but to offer so little in the form of comfort or explanation...especially when he experienced the prejudice that plagued Spock as a child seems v-e-r-y far out of character.

Good job otherwise. :)
