Loved it! Gimli's battle-lust was an unnerving yet cool aspect of his character and the battle at the Deep, and I enjoyed the different perspectives of it.

the counting scene has always been one of my most unforgettable scenes of LOTR. i think you've chose a good topic to write on. and those new scenes you added has enriched the whole scene. it is a very good reading experience.

I really enjoyed reading this. It is well written and you have obviously taken time and thought over what you want to convey to the reader.

I loved the extra descriptive detail you added to each scene and the touches of 'gallows humour' made it more realistic. I liked the contrasting reaction between the men of Rohan and the Uruks to Gimli's counting. The former taking heart that their foe could be slain, while the latter felt despair and fear.

There were a few punctuation errors - wayward commas and full-stops where, perhaps, the sentences could have been merged together, but it did not spoil the flow of the story.
