You have fantastic word choice. I'm really happy with this meeting of Death and Rory; it's one of my favourites. I wish only that it were longer and that there were fewer allusions to other things. Obviously this is meant for someone who, unlike me, has read all of Sandman, but you could probably add a little but more explanation.
Also I want Dream's library.

You're not going to believe this, but this crossover has actually happened. There was once a Doctor Who novel called Happy Endings, which had a segment written by Neil Gaiman featuring a character who was indentified as Death.

The idea of Death lending Rory books from Lucien's library fills me with the most extraordinary glee!

Oh, that's nice. For some reason, I never thought about the boredom problem for Rory, but you're right, that's definitely an issue. I like that image, of her taking the stars, and anticipating maybe putting them back. And I'm glad she's helping Rory. Who was in Hell for 10,000 years?
