So sorry to rant because I shouldn't be rreading this fiction if I don't approve but I just wished someone would explain a healthy balanced relationship where the guy can provide and take care of her where relationships aren't based on looks because honestly looks don't last. Awwww. This is so cute! I love Rapunzel's enthusiasm and I love how Eugene, even though he's tired and wants to sleep, still smiles and really appreciates what she did for him. They both want to make the other one happy and it's the cutest thing.

You're good with your descriptions. I was as nervous as Rapunzel as she was heading down the cellar.

I am quite enchanted with this entire series. It is the perfect continuation of the story in my opinion. It hints at reality enough that it makes it easy to envision and yet fits the fairytale idea perfectly, making one believe that it really is a happily ever after. The love story continues to unfold very sweetly and it is funny as well. The characters feel like the characters. In addition, while remaining light and happy, the story also hints at the difficulties of her adjustment. I like how Rapunzel and her family don't shy away from the terrible past, but also don't get too much in the doldrums about it, instead choosing to work through it in the little ways, like Rapunzel paining murals on her walls.

Anyway, I liked the whole set so much I couldn't decide which was my favorite, but after thinking about it for a few days, I think that I'd have to choose this one. The way she gets so excited for his birthday is great. I like the echo to the movie, with her there being so excited about her own birthday. And the whole breakfast in bed with The frying pan is just superb.

But the real reason I gush so much about this one is because of Eugene's response. It is so perfect. He's clearly tired and less than enthused at being woken up but he clearly cares enough about her to just continue her with her excitement. It was simply fantastic.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your little series. Thanks for the smile.
