Wonderful to get more of this story. Vin is desperate to show that he isn't helpless and is really pushing himself not to be a burden or cause Chris too much trouble. The thought of leaving his boots on for the two months for his arm to heal is just cringeworthy; Vin is not taking very good care of himself. Terrific metaphor Vin used to explain to Chris why he is so reluctant to accept what Chris is offering and Chris can see that. The next part about taking too much and never getting any more "water" was so heartbreaking; glad Chris made it perfectly clear that Vin could take all the "water" that he needs as Chris will never run out. Fantastic friendship fic and looks like Vin is trying to accept what Chris is offering. Hope to see more Mag 7 fic from you soon! Thanks so much for sharing this one.

Nice fic and great look at Vin. He's had a very hard life in the past and was alone so long; he would think that taking care of himself would be his only option. His stubborness at now wanting to reveal a weakness or depend on someone is a result of not having anyone so Chris' frustration at Vin not accepting help really came thru. Chris wants to help Vin and Vin not wanting help is just such a surprise to him. The part where Vin sets his own broken arm was a painful shock; I cringed when I read it. Glad Chris was able to get Vin to rest and accept some help. Lovely Vin and Chris fic. Thank you for posting this.

Ah, Claire - You have *such* a feel for h/c, no matter in what 'verse you write.

This was perfect. Vin's always been such a loner - even with the special connection he has with Chris, he's not one to just lie down and accept help. Of course he's been fending for himself for years. I think one of the lines that affected me the most was when he put his arm through the chair slat and reset the bone. And how he told Chris he'd been able to set broken arms by "hisself, thank you very much" - or words to that effect. I adore a good vinjury - and this was one (although I hate he got his purdy face messed up!)

Thank you for all you put out there for us to read - you're such a good writer - I hope I've told you I adore your Supernatural fics, too (sucker for a good Sam whumping, though I think you know that!)
