Just read this story as quickly as I could as I couldn't put it down! Damn the feels are really getting to me right now! Absolutely fantastic work slouchy it's not finished. I really cared for the characters and was nearly in tears at points! Seriously the harry and family interactions were done amazingly especially the last bit with Harry Kelly and Gibbs!

I really like the story but I was wondering about the adoption policies; you state that by law Harry has to be placed with a British family, but that is untrue. International adoption is popular in the US and residency isn't required to adopt from the UK (residency that the Gibbs family would have if Jethro was deployed). I also feel like it's a bit unbelievable that the Gibbs family would decide to adopt after knowing Harry for a couple of hours.

reading this fanfic, i got an idea from it. you see they mentioned american muggle food and i like thought: well if ron like it that well you could tell your parents... mrs. wesely would probably be a pro at couponing.

Ok, I really like the story, it's a nice blend of realistic and magical, but there is one thing that bothers me, and that is Gibs. Your Gibs seems…almost completely uncaring. I mean, yes, when something happens then there are hugs and what not, but otherwise? You barely mention his relationship with his children. And when he is mentioned, it's in a bland, devoid of feelings letters. He might as well not exist. There is also the fact from a very sharp minded, protective person you turned him into a person who not only doesn't react when his son is in danger (I cannot imagine him not being angry and worried about trolls, bludgers, attacked students, not visiting Hogwarts with Harry being unconscious and Minerva would never hide things like this) but into a person who somehow doesn't react to his daughter being clearly depressed. And it was very clear from what you wrote. It's like you focused so much on Kelly, Shannon and Harry's school life that Gibbs stopped existing and holding any kind of importance. He just appears when adult is needed. I don'y get it.

Great story. Looking forward to reading more.

I know you have already wrote the next chapter and most likely have decided on what is going to happen to Shannon and Kelly but I believe Gibbs is a very loving man for a U.S Marine and personally I've always hated the Durseley's as they are white Trash and they don't deserve to live let alone breath especially for beating poor Harry Potter.
