The whole story is great. Really well written, suspenfol, and right in the storyline of The Mentalist. One of the best Fanfics I've read. C.G.

I nominated this story for the 2012 Paint It Red Awards in the following category:

Gen Best Red John

Reason: "Red John episodes are different. On most Thursdays, our beloved show is a joyful romp. Despite being a police procedural, The Mentalist is funnier and brighter than most comedies, featuring Cho's deadpan one-liners, Lisbon's spunk, and Jane's cheeky antics. But then, every once in a while, our resident serial killer rears his ugly head - and suddenly, like a cloud passing across the sun, the whole tone changes. Colors are darker, crime scenes are bloodier, and Jane is just a little bit less sane. 221b Baker Street captures all of these nuances and more in her chilling installment, Jonathon Redding."

Best wishes!

Oh, wow, very nice story! You did a really good job at keeping the mystery, the suspension going. Jane really was the only one who could make those connections, and going along for the rise was thrilling.

You are easily my favorite Mentalist author, you know that? My goodness, It just keeps getting better and better! Jack the Ripper is one of my favorites when it comes to history and killers, ( and no, I'm not a murderer, I promise ) and I'm so glad you made a Mentalist story to go with it. Well done, and I look forward to more. In fact, by this point, I almost NEED more! _

Batboys of Baker Street chapter 11 . 8/10/2011
Can I just say wow? This story was definitely amazing. Awe inspiring, really. I've always been a little obsessed with serial killers (not in a creepy "I'm going to be one" sort of way, of course) which might explain my love of Crime/Drama on televison, but anyway, Jack the Ripper is a -gory and tragic- fascinating case because it's one of first documented serial killings...

At first, I was a little reminded of the episode "Jones" from Criminal Minds when they have a copycat Jack the Ripper case, but this was far, far different from a mere pissed off and damaged woman copycating the Ripper case with men. And so intriguing. This took place in season three, but I'm guessing the beginning because I haven't seen past the first episode of that season yet. Still, there weren't 'spoilers' which is why I read it anyway.

And I love the way you wrote this, with the suspense and accuracy of all your other stories along with the intense feeling of drama and impending doom. I did not truly suspect Nelson (there were twinges, but I brushed them off) until Rigsby heard the name and realized that it was Rayer. And then it was too late... My heart was seriously thudding a hundred miles a minute, while I tried to think "He is NOT going to die" and despite all of that, I was still nervous.

Another excellent story, really looking forward to reading the rest of your works!

That's one of very, very few Mentalist fanfics which I think honestly has Jane's 'voice'. The whole story is great and has everything I could want, including all the twists and turns and Patrick Jane wandering around in his own world, parallel to the investigation but somehow not part the team. And the Blake books thing, and the way you tied people together. The imagery and description are very vivid, without ever over-describing. I really *like* this fic.

Great story! One of your best. You've definitely captured the eerie, disturbing tone of a Red John episode. The continuing theme of "idol" gave the story a nice, tight feel. The case itself was creative, well-done and extremely icky - completely fitting for Red John's followers. I liked your exploration of the gun issue, and Jane's questionable mental health. The moment when Jane holds the gun on Nelson by the waterfront, and all those cops turn their guns on Jane - that was genuinely scary. Jane thinking of drawing in Nelson's blood later on? Genuinely creepy. The ending was chilling, too. Awesome job with all the characters, as usual. You have great familiarity with the show, and it is very evident in your writing. Keep writing stories, and you'll keep a lot of Mentalist fans very happy!

Brilliant final chapter, love the little twist at the end (the book he got from JohnJohn's house had nothing in it making Jane believing he was going mad and then out of nowhere Mark Moooney appears and hands over his book confirming Janes theory all along), very cleverly thought out.
