I've read the Monkey's Paw in a manga called xxxHolic! It was disturbing and sad in a way. I'm really hooked to this story! Good fic!

What a wonderful story. I didn't know The Monkey's Paw before, although the theme is familiar from folk tales. There was one about Husband and Wife where the first wish, after finding the wish-granting item, was to get home, then the second that Husband, angry at Wife, wished a sausage hang on her nose, and then of course with the third wish undid it, so that in the end they had just stupidly wasted the wishes. But the moral of that one was just think what you wish for, with no menacing undertones of Fate in there. Anyways, thanks for sharing the story with us readers.

Another wonderful adaptation of a classic story ("The Thorn Gate" is one of my favorites)! It was like a birthday gift when I came to FFnet and found this jewel amid the sawdust. Beautifully done.

Yes- this is such a wonderful idea and so beautifully executed. Right down to the great irony of Mairlome's wish and Elrond's rejection of his own desire. Brilliant idea, wonderful characterisation - this is going ot be one of my favourite's for many years!
