This is a great story. For all its improbability within the NCIS canon, the feelings of alienation and grief that you conjure feel very real.

I actually feel better thinking that this might have happened and they had someone to comfort them in their losses.

Lord knows, no one else would have.

LOVE. I want to adopt this. I actually don't see this as out of character for either, especially considering what happened to them. I take that to mean that you're just that ridiculously good at portraying both of them in an honest light. This story was sad and sensual and beautiful all at the same time. Wonderful piece! Thanks for helping me procrastinate parasitology and pharmacology :)
