I know you've been worried about the state of your mental health whilst you wrote this but I'm worried about mine whilst I'm reading it since it made me laugh! Not just a small snicker either but a full out belly laugh and I don't know why, since I think it's just a tad mean of you to have Arthur dreaming of Merlin and himself being murdered not only by Camelot's resident psycho but their best friends too! That of course also depends on whether that last little scene was a dream. What happens if morning comes and he doesn't wake up? Ok NOW I feel that slight shudder as if someone was walking over my grave.

Wait, wait, is Merlin actually DEAD? Cause, and I quote you here, '...almost tripped over the limp form of his manservant on the blood-soaked floor...' Does that mean Arthur's still dreaming or Merlin's really dead?

Other than that I really loved this. I think you got the dream part just right. A mixture of real, darkness, and odd. The kind where you would go "Okay, something just doesn't fit here. Am I dreaming?" I've had those before. Dreams so realistic I thought I was awake and didn't know I wasn't until I actually woke up...and even then it took me a while to convince myself I wasn't still dreaming. Scary stuff, I tell you, scary stuff.

Didn't get it completely until you mentioned Inception, and for the love of all things fanfiction, this was amazing! definately my favourite merlin story, when you picture the end it is seriously just...wowness! i love how you just casually slipped in merlins dead body, its just absolutely brilliant! :D

You DID kill Merlin!

I thought it was just in the dream! Then I noticed that, when he woke up, Arthur didn't think that Merlin being dead didn't make sense, nor anything else indicating that he was alive. The only thing that didn't make sense was the body moving from place to place. Not the fact that there was a body at all.
For a minute I was REALLY confused here...

11 out of 10 for leaving me temporarily stumped :P

thats rather random...but i get the point. arthurs biggest fear is merlin dying,then gwen loving another, being betrayed by his freinds and beng betrayed by his father. it makes sence...but its random

Wow, creepy but very powerful. It really felt like a nightmare, sliding and changing into more horrors. I've never seen Inception, so perhaps I'm missing something. Was Merlin really dead at the end? Or was that the remainder of the dream? Or am I not meant to know, and thats just there to make me wonder? Whichever it is, I really enjoyed this story. You have talent :)
