I'd read "My Girlfriend Who lives in Canada" first and became an instant fan of the "inner narration"-style that another reviewer had commented on, and to my great joy you write fic of the Uchiha Shisui and Itachi sort, my favorite in the Naruto fandom! Shisui is just a name in canon but it's always interesting to see how he's fleshed out in fics. I can see similarities in this Shisui-incarnation and the Roxas you wrote in your other (excellent) work, so I'm assuming this is just what you write best? I'm not sure if this is intentional, but "My Girlfriend" also tends to be more introspective and "expositional" (you noted it yourself once I believe; I just thought it normal for an emo-English major like Roxas :D) and this story focuses less on words and more on nitty gritty stuff, sensory details (again, quite normal for ninjas). But then again this more action than drama so that's to be expected. I especially like this unexpected fierce loyalty and love Shisui has for his young cousin, all the more highlighted by his impulsive and quick temperament. Their bond, the story setting, and Shisui's self-appointed mission was all established in so few words. I'm a terrible writer and can't recognize great writing if it stared me in the face... but being concise without losing meaning is difficult, so I find it admirable.

On a last note... it's a fictional event, but I was sorry about the First Year class getting caught :( When Benkei mentioned the village down yonder I started hoping they were hiding in there discretely but... :(

Oh I shall. Somehow, every time I look at this story, from the moment I read the summary, it just sort of hit me. The Donner Party, that's all I can think about. It's morbid and uncalled-for, but somehow, this story just reminds me. Hahaha, but I love it. I love how Shisui's inane hilarity permeates the narration, and the plot is fast-paced awesomeness. Also, the Hana thing is pretty sweet too. Loved the wolf, can't wait to see what you dish out next in relation to both.

Very nice chapter, love the how the timeline fits into canon. (especially interesting if you keep up with the Manga. Chaper 500 today FTW?)

Super-excited to see where you go with this, and I also cannot wait for the end of The Colder Water.

GRAH. Poor Shisui, he nearly got molested by some injured freak... I'm so glad he got roasted, and that Shisui somehow got a magical wolf guardian. (This plot keeps on getting better and better!) I can't wait to see what happens next. (:

Gthe first got me tongue tied - 'shrug' no idea why-and I had to rea it again :)... The way you write the character shishui is great because in naruto we know nothing of him, so you're literally making up his character. and what a great personality he has. Deffo carry this on, I mean I would probably encourage any writing of yours, mainly because it's just so entrancing to read, the characterazation, the story and your knowledge of the series. 'thumbs up'
