This is so incredibly touching. I like how although it is in third person the constant repetition of Merlin's name brings the reader a lot closer to his thoughts, as if it is he himself narrating whilst trying to be distanced.

The things that aren't said and the feeling of comnplete hopelessness and resignment are the most powerful aspects. You are an incredible conjurer of emotions and I hope you keep it up!

It's great. It's very emotional and in character. Gwen would make the perfect queen but merlin would vmake the perfect lover. A sequel please! I love how you make it according to Canon pairing but slip methur in there. it make it believable. Athur and merlin love each other but they both know for the sake of the kingdom it can never be

This was a great story, but really sad!

This is... I've always thought about how their feelings are so evident, but impossible, because Arthur will one day be king and he has all these responsibilites... and... I don't know, you managed to put it into words and I feel so close to crying because they both want, it's so obvious that they want and need each other and that there should be more, that they should have the right to have more but that they can't... it just isn't fair is it? Good job. It's sad, but really well written and emotional.

I can't wait to see your Big Bang story if it's anything like your writing in this. Lovely and so true.
