I love this. I'm a Gary x Ash shipper but I always did see them and Professor Oak and Delia as a family unit in some ways. Ash and Gary argue like brothers while still showing respect and affection for each other when it counts and Gary's limited interactions with Delia do imply that he sees her as a woman he can turn to when he needs someone to play surrogate mother or godmother in his absent biological mother's place; then there's Professor Oak who spends a lot of his downtime with Delia and advises and praises and scolds Ash as though he and Gary are both grandsons of his. This is an excellent piece of writing, great work.

You know, this isn't hard to imagine happening at all! After all, in the games, and even in a little flashback in the anime, they were really the best of buddies before becoming rivals (and are back to being so again, now.).

You are, I'll say, simply brilliant! Another awesome, and sweet piece about frindship... and family! Love this and enjoyed reading it so much. Super great one-shot! :)

You're really really good at getting everyone in-character! I can imagine all of their voices easily. I really loved the flashbacks with Ash, Gary, and Delia... it was really cute and heartwarming~ X3

The ending was wonderful... it seemed like their rivalry wasn't only limited to Pokemon training, and they finally accepted it. X3

*sigh* if only Pokemon would go into things like these and make bonds more emotional. XD

Nice. I always thought the lines between their two families would be blurred. The families are clearly close in the show. There's a lot of history there and Gary doesn't have a mother of his own. Thanks for writing this!
