Interesting but I think you overstated HOW weak Cloud is. He had issues but a major point of the subconscious is him facing his demons and coming to terms with what happened. He's gonna have scars, but he was on the road of recovery.

I also read one novelization that when Cloud died the Jenova cells transferred Zack's memories and fighting prowess to Cloud...and Cloud retained his prowess even afterwards. Combine with his own strength and he was STRONGER then Zach by the end.

Wow! What an chapter! you seem at the cusp of a great finale! I really hope you finish this wonderful story!

I just came across this brilliantly written fic of yours and I just love it when I encounter gems like this. The FFVII fandom is gifted with many wonderful writers such as yourself.

I love the plot and the characterization. I especially love how you portray Rufus and Tifa. You've shown just how badass Tifa can be, especially when placed in positions of leadership. She really knows how to step up. Also, it was great seeing Zack somehow alive in here too. Sephiroth coming back with no memories then suddenly finding out what he did was an interesting scene.

Overall, I have nothing but praise for your story. I look forward to what happens next. If you ever come around to updating this, I'm on for the ride.

You have no idea how happy I am that this story is still around. I remember reading the old COI, and you've recaptured the essence of that, while staying true to the expansion. Love it.

A wonderful fic, sorry its no finished.

This is intense. Given how much Zach kept being mentioned and brought up, I guessed he'd show up, but not by using Cloud's body as his spiritual host. And everything is building with the WEAPONS showing up, a sane Sepiroth, Cloud's split personality, and now the Planet's plans to bring the ancients. It took me a few chapters to get into the story, but the writing, the flow of action, and the character interaction has greatly improved. Everything is flowing seamlessly now. I hope you keep on writing. This is story worth telling, and I can't wait to read more.

Goddamit, what a cliffhanger! This story is wonderful. The characterisation spot on, both in dialogue and internal monologuing; the descriptions of all the beasts and weird creatures are vivid without being excessive; the plotting is superb and you handle all the different plot threads and POVs so well.
I also really like what you've done with the infighting between the scientists and how all their individual egos come to play...and I can't help but feel that Nyx is the most dangerous of the three ladies, considering how she set up Montessi and Roissy like that with the expectation that one of them was going to die in their meeting.
Also, Cloud and the neural pattern transfer - it's chilling to think about, but it makes so much sense! And it's so tragic that he's just letting it happen because being taken over by Zack actually seems like the most reasonable option in the circumstances. Damn, his own best friend is almost the greatest danger to Cloud's sense of self...I say almost because, of course, that dissociated identity (presumably created as a coping mechanism from his time under Montessi's experiments?) is probably scarier by far...
Damn, I can't wait to read more of this. It's a brilliantly realised vision of post-Advent Children, but even if you don't continue you can be pretty proud of what you've pulled off so far.

And as far as we all know, the damn fool never showed up in FF7 when Sephiroth was running rampant and he was needed the most. _
