First of all, my heart is so full right now that you updated. Seriously, Do Re Mi, this is one of the best gifts I have ever received (not that this outline was specifically for me, of course. But my birthday is at the end of the month and I am calling this a gift! lol) With the fanfiction I’ve been reading over 10 years this is the one story that I have never forgotten. Of all of the Harry Potter stories I've read, this one has always been considered canon in my mind. This story has been so well thought out and planned and Leandra and Corvus have a very special place in my heart. It's funny, you mentioned writing STAR when you were in high school; I also started reading STAR in high school. Then when I graduated high school the DH movie came out. End of a HP era. And now I am finishing graduate school next month and I have an ending for the Salesmen. End of the last HP era for me; I haven’t found a story as good as yours. :3

Thank you for posting this outline. 3 Every so often I come back to this site to reread this story from STAR to Salazar's Encore. I've even come up with my own story following the Salesmen since the end of GoF. Hah, I remember being so excited to share my name with you and seeing it included at the beginning of Encore during the Quidditch World Cup chapters. 3 I doubt that you remember but I was enamored with Louis and my story was following my character and Louis and their relationship during the series. If you want I can even share my ideas with that with you if you're so inclined! But I warn you it is very Mary-sue like and cliché and nowhere near as well thought out as your stories have been. Lol.
It'll take me some time to read and reread this outline and work these new details in my own version of the Salesmen that I created after GoF. It's funny because some of the things I thought up of for your characters are very similar to what you posted!

But thank you again, it is bittersweet to have the series finish off like this. However, I feel so touched that you are sharing your ideas for the rest of the series. There haven't been any other authors on this site, with stories that I've followed, that have done this. So this is both bittersweet but also very satisfying to have an answer to my questions. I can't believe it's been almost 7 years since chapter 34!

Now, onto what I think! :D I hope ff doesn't have a limit on amount of words in a review because I have a lot of thoughts to share! I am also backing up my responses on a word doc. Lol!

About STAR, while it was weird that she did go from one brother to another, I also feel it's fitting to the ideas of teenagers and their fickle idea of love. But on that, her relationship with Reg was special… so maybe a good idea to move away from brother to brother. I do agree on the thought to slow down Leandra and Sirius’ relationship going into Salesmen and beyond. One of the things I couldn't figure out in my mind is whether you would keep Sirius alive for Lee in OotP because of the way their relationship was progressing. Based on what I read between the characters and how their dynamic was progressing, I felt that she would have wanted to make an effort to get Sirius out of the house and maybe thought that it would even change the way he gets to the Department of Mysteries. But then it would really stray from the canon story. So overall, I like the idea of taking their romance on slowly.

Haha and I have tried saying Ascanius out loud! Definitely among the more unique character names. On a side note, I remember reading in the end of STAR/beginning of SS when it would go: dark thought of Ascanius. Click. Another dark thought about evil and murdering his traitor sister. Click. Wanting to find the dark lord again. Click. It was so foreboding and chilling! I loved the way you wrote that. He is such an evil character. I am very satisfied by his demise. But more on that later. Lol.

On GoF: I’m surprised to hear that she would support Fudge. Perhaps the public stance is given her status in the wizarding world? I loved reading the relationship between Harry and Corvus and am very pleased by how it played out during the rest of the outline.

And I am so glad Corvus reconciles with Louis and Anwar. Given their anger at him and Max before hand I wondered how long the animosity would last between them.

The ending to GoF fits Corvus’s character so well. I feel that he would struggle between wanting to do what’s right with staying on the sidelines and caring only for his own well-being. However ultimately, I knew he would be a good guy. ;)

OotP: Before Hogwarts - Love the idea of him going into his family’s vault! And jealous Coco! :’( I imagine the dialogue between her and Kreacher and the two house elves with Corvus would be hilarious! I also like the idea that Kreacher has thoughts on Reg. Poor Corvy, he has a chance to hear more about his father but then Kreacher closes in on himself.

Question! How does the ownership of Grimmauld Place and Kreacher change once Sirius passes? Do things go to Corvus as he is the Black heir or does it all go to Harry? I know Kreacher in an integral character in the beginning of DH and Grimmauld is the setting for the trio…

Ugh, how I would love to read a scene between Sirius and Corvus while being in Grimmauld. So bittersweet that Corvus reminds him of his brother. The angst! I thrive on it. Haha.

Leandra - I like the idea of Lee confiding in Tonks about her relationship. At this point, she has no one to discuss Sirius with and she was alone since Regulus passed! Poor woman. And the ending between her and Sirius right before the Dept of Mysteries…my poor heart. All the feels right now.

Hogwarts - I TOTALLY agree with Pretzel dumping Hogwarts and joining the death eaters. Also, I also knew that the Salesmen would join DA. Of all the Salesmen, I was unsure about Anwar. In my mind I couldn’t wrap my mind around him joining DA so easily. He was always such an amorphous blur of will he/won’t he to me if that makes sense, haha. I wondered how he would be during the war because he kept to himself even within the Salesmen. He was always a mysterious dude.

Unbridge - And Louis (3) and his flirting…lol. I feel like he would be good at deflecting blame away from the Salesmen concerning contraband with Umbridge.

Draco - Corvus’s relationship with Draco was another dynamic I loved too. Draco was so eager to have him over at his house (was it in PoA?) and I remember giggling at how he and his father would tease Corvy with Narcissa being stern in the background. But overall, like Corvus’s relationship with Harry, I knew that working with Draco would be rocky but at the end of it all they would remain lifelong friends.

Corvus and Leandra, Corvus and Harry, and Corvus and Draco were my favorite times of character development. Also the introspection Corvus goes through within himself. He is a very complex and well thought out character that is changing and maturing before my very eyes between SS and SE. My heart is so full when reading how he ultimately achieves his end in the Harry Potter world. 3

Teenage love - And reading that Corvus didn’t end up with Daphne was a BIG shot in my ship. Haha. I always thought they’d be together. When I read that he would date Marietta, I thought ?! And good for Maxy dumping Breisis. Max and Cho forever! 3

Question 2: What happened to Breisis in the end? I know that she helps them with the Durmstrang ship in DH-but what about afterwards? What is her relationship like with Corvus post DH? Also, what becomes of Metis (the snake!)?

On Ascanius breaking everyone out of Azkaban-very much expected given his character. I bet he felt so smug standing in the rubble while his fellow death eaters ran free. That would have been a chilling scene to read.

Question 3: You say Leandra doesn’t feel right lying anymore; can you please clarify that? She doesn’t feel right lying to the public and denying Voldemort’s return? What was Dumbledore’s plan for her supporting fudge in the first place?

Also, I like the idea of Mengele. Very creepy indeed and I love that he is followed up on in DH. Again, you planned this story out so well! You are so talented!

With the Dept of Mysteries scene, I also had it in my mind that it would only be Corvus as well. It doesn’t make sense to have the other Salesmen. And on my heart, again! Regulus calls out to Corvy! :’( How I would have loved to read that scene. And another shot to my heart with the private respect to Sirius with Lupin, Lee and Corvy. 3 This would have been an amazing scene. 3

HBP:
Leandra - I agree with Leandra’s sentiments about Dumbledore. Dumbledore is supposed to lead everyone. After losing Sirius, nearly losing Corvus, and having Ascanius creating more chaos is so much pressure for her to handle.

And I love, love, love, her taking Corvus out to train him as a crafter. That is what I imagined happened for him as well. The idea of crafters is so unique and fits well into JK Rowling’s world. I would love to learn more about the runes and blood magic!

Hogwarts - Definitely agree and saw in my head about the tension between baby death eaters and the salesmen. Oh the feels on how Draco would almost confess it all to Corvus in the bathroom scene. It also feels wrong for Corvus fixing the vanishing cabinet. The guilt he would feel afterwards would be a lot of bear… proving a tool or contraband will be more innocuous while also helping out his cousin.

And poor Daphne being left out of slug club. Lol. I like the idea of Max telling the trio about his origins. Maybe the funeral? Maybe on the train ride home?

Max & Cho - Max is such a gentleman staying with Mary. 3 And I also agree that it didn’t make sense when Cho started dating Michael Corner. These two are so cute. I would like to read the scene of their first kiss or maybe when he proposes to her. Max is so classy!

Corvus & Daphne: So, I already mentioned above that in my mind, it was Corvus and Daphne that were always a forever couple. I need to go back and reread SS and SE to see the areas that Daphne wasn’t developed well. And the longer I thought about it, I could also see them dating but then calling it quits. I am quite enamored by Corvus’ love story. 3 3

On DH:
NEWTS: I can see Jeremy being so smug at trying to get all this blood status info. I suppose this is when it is outed to all the Max is muggleborn?

Question: What do you mean that the Salesmen are the only ones to walk out?

8 Potters: I like how you integrate the Salesmen into this scene. And I’m so happy Corvus gets to connect with a good Black relative.

The wedding: I bet the conversation between Corvus and Luna would be so cute! And how is Ascanius damaging the tower? Is it his Stirling blood that the magic of the Tower doesn’t resist? Very interesting and shocking twist!

What happens to Margeaux? And Anwar and Louis’ family during the war? What are their stances and how do they react to their children being a part of the war?

Muggleborn registration: So cool having Max in on the day the trio breaks in. I bet it would be nice for Max and the trio to see each other again and for the trio to be reassured that there is still attempts to fight the war outside of grimmauld. And oh my heart on Max and Cho. They are the best! And I like that you would integrate Cho more into the story with having her use her cunning skills. I feel like that aspect of her character was completely left out in the book series.

Salesmen vs Voldemort: I LOVE the idea of using the Durmstrang ship! What a cool bit of magic to witness when they are trying to power up the ship. I laughed out loud when you said they would be wizard pirates. But, oh my goodness, the loss of Leandra made me literally put my phone down and I had tears in my eyes reading the rest of this outline. I hate how terrible it will be for Corvus, especially when he realizes both of his parents died in the water. I love Leandra so much; she demonstrated so much strength and grace to pick herself up after losing Corvus and having the start new again in America. Then she found a sort of relationship with Sirius only for it to fizzle out. She has gone through so much! Her brother murdered her parents! She was alone for so many years! She finally came home and rebuilt her family’s legacy but then loses her life! I know that she finds her strength and love through Corvus but this woman has had a very challenging life. :’( Poor Corvus! I want to give him a big hug.

Salem’s: Uh, I didn’t know this was a women’s organization?! And my heart dropped in my chest when I read that he met up with Sarah. I don’t know if you remember but that is my name! 3 This is when I was starting to cry in earnest by the way. Because you updated and this is the end of such a wonderful story and Lee died and my name showing up was a sweet surprise. Again, my heart is so full. Corvus is in the thick of doing all the right things and him lobbying for the Order makes my heart want to fly in joy. I am SO PROUD of this kid! And I love this romantic story line for him. It feels so real and raw. Having something from his POV concerning dealing with the Order, his mother’s death, his hate for Ascanius and Voldemort, and even falling for Sarah would have been some very insightful dialogue to read.

Leading up to the Battle: I think that is already a lot for the Salesmen to handle! Between Christmas and May was a scary time to be a wizard and there are only so many skirmishes to participate in before the big battle. I imagine Corvus seeing Draco again would be a fleeting encounter since they are on opposite sides of the war. But I do like having another moment between them to touch back on their last encounter in the bathroom. Maybe a situation where Draco lets Corvus escape? I like the idea of Remus and Tonks being in America. Because it gives Corvus a chance to interact with Remus as well as they process Sirius’ and Leandra’s death.
I imagine Daphne is trying to keep a low profile at Hogwarts. Would she still try to keep the business going? Would she stand up against her fellow Slytherins?
Remember when you did bonus scenes in SS? I remember one with Claude. I can see the interaction between Draco and Astoria being a bonus chapter.

AND OMG ANWAR! What a stud! I always imagined him going out with one of Louis’ older sisters or coming out as gay. I so love this idea of his Gobstones captain. No wonder he was so serious about being in the club! ;) Oh captain, my captain!

The Battle: I would be most excited to see the reunion with Max and Corvus. :) And I can see Anwar saying something sassy to the trio. And I love these ideas of how the Salesmen are helping. I am so proud of them all. 3 I like Draco sweeping in to save Corvus! What a great way to bring them together again and help repair their relationship after the battle. Astoria saving Draco would have been an interesting plot line too!

And YES, YES, YES! I SEE CORVUS USING THE KILLING CURSE! That encounter is so similar to what I imagined it would be! It is totally within Corvus’ character to use the killing curse on his uncle and not have qualms about it. I would not have accepted it any other way. And having Ascanius die is a great way to blow the morale of Voldemort’s team right before the ultimatum. I like that you are showcasing that the death eaters can have a weakness that doesn’t directly involve Voldemort.

I love the involvement of the American witches. After ilvermony and salem were revealed I didn’t understand why they wouldn’t want to help out their neighbors across the pond. Would loved to have read Corvus’ reaction to seeing Sarah there. And wow, so very fitting for Louis to become infected with lyncanthropy with him being the pretty boy throughout the whole series. And then Ron and Neville save him! What a humbling experience for him! 3

And Max and Cho for the win! I already mentioned it, but I like how you are integrating Cho into the story. And thank goodness Pretzel is out of the picture.

After Hogwarts: Louis - I also saw him going pro on the French team. ;) And also having a lot of relationships. I love how he is talking about werewolf integration. 3

Anwar - whenever I think of him now I will always see the meme of Frodo and Gandalf in the fellowship when Frodo goes, “All right then, keep your secrets”. Lol! I love this dude and am so happy that he gets a sweet happy ending. On captain, my captain indeed! What becomes of his older brother now that the salemen are done?

Max and Cho - I love the names of their children! 3 I am so happy for them! Max deserves all of the happiness in the world. Oh, Maxwell! 3

Daphne - I like the idea of Daphne being a strong independent woman going off on adventures. I am sure her relationship with the Salesmen is still strong. And I like how you integrate Astoria’s business with Max’s shop. Do you see Daphne’s partner as a new OC or someone we’ve already seen in the story?

Corvus - Corvus Dante Black. 3 Even more crying now. I don’t think I’ve ever cried reading a fanfiction. I liked that he is fixing Azkaban and rebuilding the tower. I hope that he learned a lot from Leandra. And his relationship with Sarah is so wonderful and sweet and sounds so romantic! 3 Very tactfully done, Do Re Mi. 3 He has a lot of deal with emotionally so jumping into a relationship and living happily ever after right after the war would have not made sense. I love that it’s a long love story. I am so proud of him expanding the Stirling legacy to America. And I also imagined him stopping the tradition of naming after constellations. Yes, he should name his kid whatever the hell he wants to! And my heart melted at reading about him and Draco being close. I love their relationship. 3
I thought it would have been fitting for Harry to talk to Corvus about Regulus around the time of Dumbledore’s funeral. I feel like it should be shared before Leandra passes away so Leandra also has a chance to learn about how her husband passed (with me already adopting the story line that she doesn’t know about the horcruxes).

I love Corvus as an original character. Him and Leandra. 3 You have weaved your characters in so well and made some very cool expansions to the world so tastefully. Corvus is hands down my favorite OC. Thank you so much for sharing this, Do Re Mi. It was so much fun being a part of this story and interacting with you as you were churning out the salesmen story. How nostalgic! I used to read this story when I was in high school and was absolutely OBSESSED with it. I think I even wrote some fanfiction based on this story at some point? Never published it of course, but it sure does bring back memories.
Absolutely loved the characters. This was and still is one of my all time favourite fanfics of all time :)
