I was just rewatching Lexx and thinking about if Prince had a counterpart on water. And I was hoping to find a fic where Kai got to live. Narratively, Kai dying was a fitting ending to the series. But it's sad that Xev never got to know the live Kai.

So I love how this fic addresses both of those things. It's a plausible way for Kai to come back to life.
