This was a whole new level of creepy. But yeah, I have to agree with one of the reviewers... having her survive would make for an interesting premise. One I might explore in a future fic, if you don't beat me to it (or maybe you already have o_O). Either way, its a premise I'd love to explore.

Being a fic writer means needing to drop certain aspects of canon as the situation demands. It's only natural.

The big Tang fish bowl is criminally underutilized. It's a goldmine! Instant harem for Shinji! Or more appropriately, horror. Rei's obviously a bit skewed, and it's both neat and unsettling to think about the spares being just as aware as she is. And holding "conversations" with them... sheesh. You've got a knack for making insanity accessible for the sane. And people into fics.
