I loved the wonderful insight you gave into the characters. I truly loved the ending "This time you have Rick Castle as a guide, generous enough to share the women in his life with you, a woman who needs that kind of connection back in her own life." So true! You've nailed it:)

I feel a separate paragraph is due to praise you on the very original narration you've chosen for this piece. You've done a really good job with it:) It comes off as if it was perhaps Kate's mother looking at her from somewhere up above, talking to her and watching over her:)

Ah! I was already homesick, then I read this and was crying so hard I couldn't read. Very well written and just... homey and sweet and loving and motherly and now I need a hug. ( Great fic.

I liked this! I don't generally like second person POV, but this piece is insightful and is a nice tag to the episode. My favorite line: "There it was again, that sense of calm and stability from one of the flightiest women you'd ever met." Martha may seem flighty, but she's got a solid foundation; that is always nice to see.

Can I just say that I love this story of yours?

Because I was thinking much the same thing, that Martha had made Kate a member of the family, with calling Kate "Kiddo". Martha has only called her son and grand-daughter that term of endearment. So, clearly Kate is now like a daughter to her and it was the first thought that entered my mind, right after that hug and that "kiddo"...

So this is an amazing somewhat echo of my thoughts, just with much tagged to it. :D

How write you are. Kate needs that connection to a woman with a Motherly touch. And Castle stayed in the background, and didn't seem to mind.

What a nice fill-in feeling to this. I totally agree with the feel of the hug and the few words spoken. I like the way you connected the dots between all the characters, and how naturally it would lead to a closer feeling among all of them. Thanks for writing this story! It's a keeper!
