... FYI They removed the Shepard (F) char tag and swapped it with Jien Garson at a time I have no idea about. Makes a pain for looking up stories were either there's TWO shepards, one male, one female, ala what they did for Andromeda, or looking up Femshep Stories alone (therefore no Shepard (M) to use in the exclude filter GRR.)

So I read this fic years and years ago, when I first played the games. I was browsing through the Dragon Age modern girl in thedas tag on AO3 and I was like, "I wish there was an equivalent for Mass Effect" and then I remembered this fic. I really liked it the first time, I thought the oc was fun and I liked him a lot. Also that he had a real role on the ship and a real like, career outside of it too.

That's basically all I remember from it though, so I can't wait to re read!

It's kind of contrived that the main characters get onto the Normandy crew. Ah well, I'm still interested. I'm also mystified with the *** instead of a name. You could have just put in a fake name in there if you didn't want your real name into it.

I remember reading this in 2013 on my inky dinky tablet that had 1/4th the screen broken off. I just finished ME2 and couldn't afford 3. So, this was my first fanfic. Here I am, 6 years later.

Thanks, man, for the 45 million words I've read over the years on this site. This was the gateway to a large portion of my life and figuring out who I was and a big part of that was fanfiction. If not for this fic, I wouldn't have ever read any of it.
