'Snape's a good teacher, when he isn't actually trying to teach.' This is so right - he should have been a writer. (And quite possibly will be.)

I don't think Snape is a sadist - he may have developed some fairly aggressive spells because, when your classmates try to feed you to werewolves, it seems only prudent, but I can't imagine him using Crucio, as Harry does, on people who've offended him - after all, if he did, he'd never stop! And the vignettes of Snape as a teenager don't suggest that he's the sort of person, like James, who would be aggressive to someone he fancies and say, 'Don't make me hex you,' but the sort of boy who pleads, 'But I thought we were friends? Best friends?' However, I can imagine that if he's stuck as a cat and unable to speak, he might resort to scratching and biting to express his frustration.

I'm not always into slash fiction (especially with characters who I really can't imagine are gay, whether Severus Snape or Ivan Vorpatril), but I like the way the relationship between Snape and Harry develops here. I was annoyed with Harry for being so stupid about jumping to conclusions, randomly blaming the nearest person for sabotage. And even if he couldn't be sure at first whether cat-Snape could understand much of human speech, it wouldn't have hurt to speak to him respectfully as if he understood, just in case - and to thank him for all that he'd done. Still, it works out in the end.

Spoiled kitty indeed. Even as a human, Harry is whipped enough to spoil him. I wonder if he can turn back to a cat. It really wasn't clear as to how Cissy made it possible to save him and turn him feline. I'm hoping it's his real animagus form. Harry would be thrilled about it. XD
