Haha! I rather liked how you "fixed" Eowyn's cooking problem. It makes sense, really.

This short oneshot really did make me laugh several times... I was always feeling sorry for Faramir and expecting some kind of elaborate evasive maneuver on his part, but your solution is imo better and more logical.

I mean, everybody with a tasting tongue and the ability to read written instructions and follow them should be able to cook. Especially something as easy as soup or stew. It makes Éowyn look slightly... naive, in the films, that she can't cook.

I'm actually thinking about trying one or two of these recipes you so thoughtfully suplied.

And... Now I'm hungry.

me too! I suppose they did it for comic relief, but I kinda resented the bad stereotype that the soup scene cast eowyn in. Thanks for the recipes, and for giving them in metric, that's fantastic!

Charming tale and nice to vindicate poor, maligned Eowyn. For my part, I always felt that if she was a bad cook it was due to lack of desire to learn rather than lack of ability. I usually have her choosing to learn, and becoming quite adept, prior to marrying Faramir.

I totally agree with you. Since Eowyn was in charge of the house while her uncle was sick and her cousin and brother were fighting, it would only be natural that she would know how to cook, pay the bills, fight and govern. Hope to see more Faramir/Eowyn stories from you soon.
