I think you gave a great reason for Spencer to join the law enforcement and I like the character of Matt really much - but his parents are jerks!

The end was really great - I liked that Spencer would 'tell' Matt that his killer has been caught and that he introduced his new boyfriend.

Thank you for this very touching story. It's a good back-story for Spencer. His first love that impacted his life sooo much. The brutal end of that love. Spencer's career decision being influenced by Matt. All the things from that relationship that intwined themselves in Spencer's being and molded him into the man he is today.

And Derek's support was just so...Derek. His love and concern for Spencer was so wonderful. Getting Spencer to go back and talk to Matt, to say what he was feeling...just shows how much Derek loves Spencer.

Thank you for this story. It played a little havoc with my emotions, but that just means that I'm not dead inside yet.

This was a beautiful fic. I loved every second of it, the love between Matt and Spencer was amazing, though it's a shame he died but I'm glad that he got together with Derek too. Keep up the brilliant work.
