When I read the synopsis I was skeptical. I kept reading because you promised it was better then it sounded. Based on the length alone I figured it had to have some merit. You delivered! The angst, the misunderstandings, the awkwardness, the humor, & OMG something one rarely gets in FF - the plot! I truly enjoyed this. It was sexy. It was funny. Parts of it could have been an episode. I always love the whole fake marriage / couple plot device. This is one of my favorite JAG stories ever.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this story before since I have read it a few times. There are few authors I read that pair Harm and Mac because I don't think they would have made it based on the last three seasons of JAG. This story deals with their faults and gets to the point they can talk about them. They pull together as a team and deal with real life. I love the way you deal with Mac and her insecurities. She has learned how to deal with them and now has Harm to help her. Harm also realizes he has issues to deal with and can lean on Mac. I love this story and wish you were still writing JAG stories.

Just finished rereading this gem of a story for 1000 times. It doesn't matter that it has been 15years since the last update; it is still amazing. I keep laughing, crying, and screaming every time I read this story. It doesn't get old. So, thank you.

JAG is a slightly guilty obsession of mine. Like many other fans, I love the Harm/Mac pairing and see it as a highlight of the show. I first read this story on the Legacies archive about a year ago, when I first got into JAG. It obviously made a significant impact on me - enough that recently, when my sister was reading a cruise ship fanfiction for one of her OTPs, it jogged my memory of this story and I felt a sudden need to read it. I couldn't get hold of Wifi on holiday, but the craving didn't go away and as soon as I could I was looking it up on FF. I have to say, I was trying not to expect too much. My memory of many of my early favourite fanfics is coloured with the bright early throes of new obsession, and some of those that I have gone back to read have been no more than disappointing. This story did not disappoint. It was creative, dramatic, and beautiful. Your talent for emotive prose was paired with a strong plot, which together made me cry more than once and hold my breath for about thirty seconds without noticing at one point. I felt that the Harm/Mac pairing wasn't done justice by the end of the show (and I know many of the reasons behind it - not that they make it any less upsetting) and I love this alternative storyline. I wish they'd hired you to write it, it would have been good. The porch element, in particular, was absolutely inspired. Thanks for this story, Valerie. It made my day :)

You said it's not a silly story, even if it sounds it. I think it's fairer to say that it's a great story! Good and interesting premise, interesting twists. I know I'll read it more often than three times. ;-)

fantastic story ! given the publishing date I suppose a sequel or epilog is unrealistic. Oh well I guess we can just dream. thank you for sharing your talents with us!

HOLY COW! This story was amazing, it was constructed beautifully. There were so many twists and turns I couldn't stop reading. I currently attend Kansas State University and screamed with excitment when Jed mentioned this is where he is form. lol

my friend recommended that i read this story, and i don't usaully read ones that are this long, but i think that you have just changed my mind. That is by far (no kidding) the best fan fiction story i have ever read. You had the elements, of romance, humor, suspence, and drama, action. the story was absolutly fantastic! i loved it! i like it how tiner was throwing popcorn at the t.v, how harm and mac had to marry just for a case, how they acted to be mad at each other, how you had such a dramatic ending, and thank goodness it was a happy ending, or i would have been in tears, because you write such good stories. i could easily picture that as an episode. And you kept Harm and Mac in character. Great story, really well written. You have inspired me to read more multi chapter stories, and i can't wait to read more of what you have written, beacuse you write very well. keep up the good work, very well done.

I just read the entire story all the way through, and REALLY enjoyed it. You capture the characters so well, and your writing is polished and clean. I especially like how well you pegged all the characters, especially Harm and Mac - where they are emotionally and why. There is a good blend of action, investigation, friendship/family - it was such a pleasure to read a balanced story. You are very gifted as a writer, and in many ways, this story is much better than some of the shows the writers came up with. Thank you for sharing!
