People have similar knee-jerk cliches about Draco's parents like the ones you complain about at the end of the story. They don't get how people can be bitter enemies and remain... people. Make no mistake, Lucius Malfoy was one cruel, cruel man to those he thought of as enemies. Much like the complainers, he has problems seeing his enemies as human at all, a problem Riddle had exploited the Hell out of in his rise to power and in both wars.

That said, he didn't beat Narcissa, nor did he terrorize Draco. He was a husband and a father. People are not easily defined, they aren't all that one-dimensional. It's a lazy way of thinking about others, and it really, really needs to stop.

I like the Albus and Scorpius are best friends ... Where else woud he go with initials like this - ASP, and friends like Scorp!

I like how you make Harry and Draco so easy to empathize with and show how reasonable they both are (I’m a bit sick of fics that have them fighting for no reason).

I think this might be my favorite fanfiction ever. As a Draco fan, I've always admired him, but in the fashion that you've written him. This one shot is exactly what I want to see of Draco Malfoy and how he grew from the war.

I normally don't go for headcannons, at least for Harry Potter. But this fic is, by far, the best representation of post-war canon!Draco that I have yet to read. The idea of Albus not being subject to ludicrous amounts of surveilance charms (and random bystanders) when the family is out and about stretches credulity, though. I guess with the hat his 'Harry Potter clone' looks were rather hidden, but I still would think Harry would be a paranoid bastard, doubled by his auror training. But Draco's vigilante spying was spot on. I really would love to see him in that role (and written to this quality) again.
