aww that was so beautiful to read! I love that you thought to write it from Maisie's perspective, of Danny and Rusty, I've never seen that done before, especially not as well as this. For some reason, this story has turned out to be the first I truly had time to sit down for and read. I've half-skimmed, half-swallowed a number of chapters elsewhere but I truly needed the lightness of touch after some particularly shattering ones and this was just right.

Loved it, obviously. Have missed this so much. The only 'fandom' (is this a fandom now?) where I can stand the fluff and don't throw my hands into the air and scream 'BUT WHY CAN'T YOU JUST HURT THEM AND MAKE IT BITTERSWEET AND ANGSTY?' Possibly because I love these two boys so much that it's always right to see them happy. And because there's always, ALWAYS a delicacy and a fragility there, and the awareness that it isn't always the status quo.

Outsider perspective stories are very high among my favourites, whether they're part of canon (Linus, Saul, Bobby...) or OCs (and this is a particularly charming one). And because of the love that is (most often) directed at these two: They knew criminals – they were capable of frightening those hoodlums. [...] It didn't matter what else they were; they were nice boys.' - In many ways, I think we're all Maisies, aren't we? Let them steal and rob and con and cheat! They're nice boys. And they are. And they're bloody good at both.

Much, much amusement over Danny failing at the bookcase and not being good at failure. More amusement over Rusty not fitting the idea of 'manly' that she's grown to be used to. Feeling a lot of protectiveness towards all three of them, too, and it's good to know that Rusty's got Danny and Danny's got Rusty and Maisie's got both of them. Loved the episode with Frank and Livingston and Saul. Especially Saul. And loved Maisie's awareness and consideration.

(And Arsenic and Old Lace was the perfect, PERFECT addition.)

I've really been enjoying your stories (I went looking for fic after a recent marathon and now want to start again with your character backgrounds in mind) and had to say how much I loved this one (and not just because Arsenic and Old Lace is my favorite movie). I love your Danny and Rusty. They are definitely nice boys.

This story is soooo awesome! I love outsider-point-of-view stories, especially with characters like Mrs. Cunningham. Just when I thought I couldn't adore DannyandRusty more, they go and give an awesome prize/present (that I totally want!) to a sweet old lady. :)
