Hiya, reading your fic on a recommendation made by the mod of the forum The Dark Is Drowsy. Also I love American Girl, though it’s been years since I’ve read the books (now I want to again!)

I enjoy the way you have painted Kirsten as a caretaker/big sister and how her slices of memories portrayed become tales for Britta. The fact that she specifically chooses tales of her friends loved (and lost) are significant here. It is the first step to teaching Britta just how important friendships are. Even though Britta is far too young to understand it, Kirsten is actually imparting upon her sister a valuable life lesson. and even though Kirsten herself is young, it shows her own strength of character: she has endured loss in multiple ways and has weathered the emotions of those losses.

The ending is adorable and sets up just what a great big sister Kirsten will continue to be. Britta definitely needs her own Sari, for sure :)

Thanks for this great afternoon read. :)

This is a really impressive, touching story. For such a young girl, Kirsten has already lost so much - her home country, Marta, Singing Bird. It really shows how much she's grown in how she remembers her old friends to her baby sister in stories, and how mature she is to gift Britta her own beloved doll. This matches the tone of the books so well, too. Wonderful work.

I liked Kirsten's memories put into stories, and it was cool to have Britta in a fiction. Oh, and cool to add Marta too. It made me sad when Marta died.

I plan on write some American Girl fictions sometime (hopefully sooner, rather than later), but currently I've been getting my feet wet writing Chronicles of Narnia and Disney fiction. The hold up with the American Girl ones is I don't really have a plot thought out completely.
