Great writing in the very believable key of canon. Loved it!

I had to read this again, because I needed to clarify something in my mind about Edward and Jasper's jealousy of his mindreading ability. Jasper is a total asshole, Edward is a kid, despite his many years undead, he is only a 17 year old boy. And while they were alive in different centuries, Jasper should have remembered what teenage boys are like, they are silly, boisterous, as obnoxious as they will ever be in their lives, trying to prove their manhood by doing dumb things, teasing, being as annoying as they possibly can be. Jasper took Edward's taunting personally, as if he were dealing with an equal, forgetting what it was like to be a boy. Seriously, dickwad, if he bothers you so much why do you keep playing chess with him, what a loser. Edward may have asked to be fucked, but Jasper took advantage of him, he pressured him into sex, as surely as if he had raped him. And his comment, "I hadn't proven anything. My gift-my power-was useless if Edward had been in love with me all along" What a bastard, even after all that, that selfish SOB all he can think of is that he didn't win. He doesn't deserve Edward's love, and I hope (obviously this is only a story) that if Jasper tries to make a pass at him, Edward drop kicks his sorry ass, and lets Alice know what's going on with her shmuck of a husband. Sorry, sometimes I get so caught up in stories, I forget they are just that, stories.

That was truly an unforgivable thing Jasper did, with those last thoughts, "take that Edward Cullen" it's almost as if he had raped him. Edward wanted to be with Jasper, to make love to and to be made love to Jasper, and with four words destroyed him. And really, for what, because Edward could read his mind and always beat him at chess. What a petty, unconscionable thing to do. Jasper may think he is going to have to touch Edward Cullen again, but thankfully Edward can read minds. If they ever get together again, I can't even call it make love after that fit of pique, I hope Edward has the sense to make him grovel, crawl on his knees begging for forgiveness. Not so sure he deserves it any time soon.

I do NOT know how I have missed this all these years! It was well written, beautiful and heart-breaking at the same time.
Poor Edward, but we have to remember that he started the game. His arrogance and superiority were so canon, but his love was not. He always seemed like a gay character to me, even the first time I read Twilight, so this made a lot of sense. Jasper was certainly into what went on, and he was affected and essentially changed by being intimate with Edward. In the end, I felt sorry for both of them. Edward thinks his love is unrequited (although Jasper's ambivalence with Alice makes that suspect) and Jasper was confused and almost devastated with the part he played in Edward's heartache.
Knowing that Edward loved Jasper, I reread the entire story. This time I could see it, the love, and I am surprised that Jasper wasn't able to pick it up. He felt everything but the love, which leads me to believe that maybe he doesn't really know what love feels like. Maybe what he has with Alice is not the all-encompassing love that SM seems to imply.
I could also really see the feelings that Jasper has had for Edward ever since he first met him. Even during the most intimate parts, Jasper is obviously experiencing something he has never experienced before. Hence, his relationship with Alice is not as satisfactory as he believed. How much of his "love" for Alice is because she told him he would love her? There may be a chance for Edward to someday have his Jasper. Jasper just needs to make that decision. (And Alice needs to let him go. Sorry...I didn't like Alice's conniving, lying, manipulative ways the first time I read the series.)
Any thought of reprising these two particular characters and adding to this one-shot?

This is too good not to make other chapters.

Loved it.. So compelling! And wonderful! Gosh! He loved him for years!.. And you just.. Just.. Damn! But it soooo good! Gosh I love it! Really! I praise you for your well written smut annnnnd story line! Mmmmm love it!

Wow. I can hardly form a sentence here. Really, really good. Like filthy good. I absolutely want more, so that is definitely a compliment. You wrote it well, I couldn't stop reading. Excellent fic.

WOW! That was...THAT was completely awesome. Love how it began as a power struggle between the two and completely morphed into a tender, but oh so FREAKING HOT(!), encounter.

Hate that Edward's heart and pride were crushed in the end. But, as J admitted to himself, no way will he be able to restrain himself forever...eternity's a mighty looong time, and that was far too hot & tight to not hit it again ;)

That was beautiful!..tho it's so bittersweet at the end. The power that Jasper can hold over Edward is so intoxicating. Think im gonna go read this again! ;)

Technically this story should have contained a warning for non-con or dub-con because Jasper manipulated the situation without Edward's full consent (he wasn't thinking clearly therefore it wasn't full).

I also claim that it should be dub-con despite Edward's unknown long-term feelings for Jasper because they were just that, unknown. If Jasper had known of them beforehand then I could say that there was really nothing wrong to that (dub-con) degree but Jasper was unaware and still pressed the situation.

Other than the lack of proper warning the story itself had a great deal of angst and feeling to it. I felt quite sad for Edward throughout because he finally got his desire/wish but it meant nothing in the end.

I also felt bad for Alice not only because she 'knew' what was going to happen but also, because of Jasper's vagueness at the end, the 'threat' of it happening again despite his (Jasper's) claim that it wouldn't. You carried a very palpable sense of tension throughout.

What a wonderful story. So so sad for Edward though.
