Poor Neal. I can relate. There was a time where I didn't eat at all for a week (no money). It's horrible.

I love this and how it answers the question that plagues me of how Neal afford to even eat. Even if he's being given the same amount as his housing allowance for spending money, it's still not enough to pay bills, cab fares, clothing (we all need a few pieces now and then), and eat in NYC. He is very lucky June is okay with renting him such a large apartment for so little and that she even seems to cover breakfast (and possibly coffee) costs for him for free. It's very Neal to not want to take advantage of June by asking for any more food unless she invites him to another meal, even while knowing she very likely would. It's how I had always guessed Neal was able to eat - she either offered more food to him or maybe gave him back some of the housing allowance.

I wish the story had been more linear since I had to read it through twice to get the timeline down.

I love this one-shot! I keep coming back to it.
First, it is probably the only story I've read where Cruz isn't antagonistically portrayed. I liked her a little bit actually and feel that she's been villanized in the fandom. (I mean, she's hardly the nicest person out there, but she isn't the spawn of Satan either.)
And this addresses the question of "What is Neal living on?"

Aww I loved this. I admit I'd never considered that fact but oh my gosh poor Neal. I'd be dying by then.. And he's so happy and peppy all the time too.
