I am crying (not even kidding). This is the saddest story I have read in years... possibly ever.
The relationship between Arthur and Merlin is adorable and, once again, sad.
It just kept getting sadder and sadder and Arthur's promise... *goes back to sobbing*

I think if it were the opposite way round for these two, I really feel that Merlin wouldn't be able to handle it / I think he wouldn't be able to carry on. But maybe that's just me.
